Renovating essential spaces means more than improving buildings. It means restoring dignity, safety, and stability for the people we serve.

Thanks to the generous support of the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, Second Heart Homes is renovating four bathrooms across two properties, creating safer and more accessible spaces for residents who have experienced homelessness and live with mental illness.

Second Heart Homes is a local nonprofit providing housing, supportive services, and care to individuals in Sarasota and Manatee experiencing homelessness and mental illness.

We are incredibly grateful to the Selby Foundation for their generous support and commitment to strengthening our community 💙

As part of more than $900,000 in recent grants awarded to local nonprofits, Second Heart Homes received $84,895 to remodel bathrooms in our homes for formerly unhoused individuals. This support will help us create safer, more comfortable, and dignified living spaces for the people we serve.

For 70 years, the Selby Foundation has invested in organizations that expand opportunity and create lasting impact across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties. We are honored to be part of that mission and deeply thankful for their partnership in helping us build brighter futures.

Meet Theresa Bishop Fieberts, Spiritual Director of the Center for Spiritual Living, along with other incredible volunteers who made this possible.
Thanks to their dedication, these homes are now ready for 12 individuals to begin a new chapter after experiencing homelessness.

Second Heart Homes exists to restore dignity and create stability for homeless adults living with mental illness through housing, support, and compassion.

We are so grateful to the incredible volunteers from Center for Spiritual Living for helping us prepare this house that will soon become home for 12 formerly homeless individuals.
