Trip to Baku was very interesting. Along with site seeing and enjoying traditional cuisine, I was fortunate to meet Dr Elgiz Mamedov, Dr. Dilqam Ismayilov, Dr. Albert Zekizade and Dr. Daniyar Kaldjanov that are passionate in dentistry.
I’ve visited “state of the art” Sky Clinic where Dr Dilqam Ismayilov (owner) provided a few of his operatories for our studies and surgeries that utilized digital imaging and planning software. Sky Clinic is one of the best dental clinics in the country with the team that is thriving to deliver best care for their patients.

ARE YOU DEALING WITH YELLOW TEETH? 3 POSSIBLE REASONS

Some people assume that having yellow teeth is simply a part of life. Others take advantage of teeth whitening and other cosmetic dentistry options. We can help with either option but we also believe it is important to let our patients know why their teeth may be turning yellow. Read on to learn more about them and then reach out to Dental Arts of Saugus at 781-684-9555 if you are interested in learning more about cosmetic dentistry.

It may simply be a sign of your age

Like it or not, as we age our teeth become less white and can become more yellow. This is due to the enamel on our teeth wearing thing, which is a natural part of the aging process. The inner layer of the teeth, known as dentin, is darker than the rest of your teeth. When the enamel, which is the top, thin layer, beings to wear away then the darker dentin shows through. You can’t necessarily prevent this entirely but you can slow down enamel thinning by avoiding foods that are sugary or acidic and by treating acid reflux if you have it.

It may be your genetics

Many people have no idea that if their teeth yellow more than their peers or more quickly than their peers, that this could be a result of their genetics. Just like your parents and their ancestors can have an impact on the type of hair you have, the color of your skin, and the color of your eyes, they can also have an impact on the color of your teeth. For the most part, this is once again related to enamel. Some people have thinner enamel than others, and that tends to be hereditary.

There may be chemicals contributing to the yellowing of your teeth

There are a number of chemicals that can affect the color of a person’s teeth. For example, some childhood medications have chemicals that can damage the dentin your teeth. A common example is a type of antibiotic known as Tetracycline. It is often used to treat allergies and asthma, and can be effective at that but it can also yellow or discolor your teeth.

The good news is that kids these days are not as likely to have this issue. Why? Because the issue is now known and doctors will often hold off on prescribing this particular drug until a child is ten or so. However, if you took this drug, or underwent chemotherapy, then your teeth may have yellowed.

The vast majority of the time, yellowing teeth is not the sign of a dangerous medical condition. However, it is not generally that pleasing. Many of our patients want to have whiter, prettier teeth and we can help with that. DENTAL IMPLANTS: ARE THEY WORTH IT?
If you’ve lost a tooth then you know how upsetting it can be. You not only have the physical gap that could bring you embarrassment, but you have an exposed root of your tooth that can be extremely painful if you don’t treat it. The good news is that there are ways to treat the tooth. To learn more, read on and then reach out to Dental Arts of Saugus at 781-684-9555 to learn more about our dental implants.

Dental implants are strong and they are dependable

When you have dental implants installed, they go deep into your gums. They are designed to attach right to the bone of your jaw, which means that it is in there for good. These are teeth that are not going to come loose. In fact, they’re just as secure as a regular tooth – although the fact that they can’t be affected by gum disease or other issues that make real teeth susceptible to decay. When you have implants, you can live your life without worrying about your teeth.

You won’t have long-term pain

Many other solutions used to replace missing teeth involve partial dentures that have pieces of metal attached to them. These worked great for many years, except for one big issue: They got uncomfortable after being worn for hours at a time. As a result, they weren’t a full-time, permanent solution. This is not an issue with dental implants.

Dental implants offer the permanent answer to lost teeth

If you choose to get dentures instead of dental implants, then you’ll be in charge of taking out your dentures every night and then keeping them clean. On the other hand, when you use implants you don’t have to worry about this kind of maintenance. You simply brush and floss your teeth as you normally would and your implants will last you the rest of your life.

Not only can dental implants be used to replace a few teeth, they can be used to replace all your teeth. If you’ve lost one or more tooth, or you believe that you’re in danger of losing one and you want to know your options, then we encourage you to contact Dental Arts of Saugus at 781 684 9555. We can set up an appointment during which we’ll take a look and let you know what your long-term options are.
