We’re excited to share some important news about the future of your healthcare.
Prairie Clinic and Sauk Prairie Healthcare have reached an agreement to join together as one organization, effective December 21, 2025. This partnership is the result of more than two years of thoughtful planning by both organizations’ boards of directors.
What does this mean for you?
You’ll benefit from enhanced quality and improved access to care through a seamless system that combines the expertise, resources, and scale of both organizations. Prairie Clinic will become the sixth primary care clinic in Sauk Prairie Healthcare’s independent, locally owned network.
There will be no operational changes affecting patients prior to the transition date. We’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.
Insurance coverage remains strong
Sauk Prairie Healthcare and its clinics will continue to be in-network providers for all major area health insurance plans. Notably, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield will again include Sauk Prairie Healthcare in its network starting January 2026.
This partnership builds on a 70-year history of collaboration between our two organizations, beginning with Prairie Clinic physician Dr. Gibbs Zauft, who helped establish Sauk Prairie Hospital in 1954. We’re proud to continue this legacy of locally focused, visionary healthcare.
Thank you for trusting Prairie Clinic with your care. We look forward to serving you as part of a stronger, unified healthcare team.
