Yesterday as I was moving an old broken lawnmower a huge rat bigger than my foot jumped out of it. I had one cat near me who immediately took interest in it. I knew there were more cats nearby so I screamed for them to come join the hunt. The youngest one showed up next, and then they managed to lose it inside of a huge pvc pipe. 3 more cats showed up, and I dumped the rat out and it slowly ran off in the woods. Between the 5 of them, they lost sight of it, but I saw it the whole time and then watched it climb up into a tree. They spend half their days climbing trees yet didn't want to bother chasing this thing up there. Atleast they'll never be bored here on the property.

We had a second garbage pit on the property in the woods. This was filled with all sorts of glass, tin cans, car oil containers, 100's of syringes 🤢 3 boxsprings plus mattresses, lawn mower parts, car parts broken tvs and computers, washing machine, and so much more. 3 days ago we started cleaning it. Tonight we finished removing all the excess and big stuff and caught that nasty s**t on fire. Plus took the little 8" chainsaw we have and cleared a ton of excess and rotting trees. Your dogs sounded so mad at us Samantha Clear lol

Here is the moment I've been waiting for since we moved here.... Adam and I have completely finished cleaning up all the mounds of garbage!! Every single pile surrounding the property is complete. Took us 6 months, and we only had shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows. I don't have beginning pictures on this phone so I screen recorded pics off of my videos. First pics are from whenwe moved onto the property, and others are from tonight.

The weather here is so bipolar! One day it loves me , the next its trying to blow my house down. We had huge gusts of wind, and the sky turned an eerie gray/ brown.

Adam and I were cleaning out garbage from the forest area yesterday. Found this huge guy hiding under an old recliner . He must have been 5 feet long. We left that area and went to another to clean lol.

Just went outside to call in the kittos, and the baby spicy just ran up with her 2nd rat of the day! Now the cats are all chasing her around trying to get a chance to play with it.

Our smallest kitto just came to the door carrying a critter almost as large as her! Huge pack rat!

When the kittos have a schedule to go outside every morning and go to the bathroom, and that schedule is interrupted by freezing cold and snow, they get a little stir crazy in the house. A few of them thought they could go outside anyways. Pharoah belly flopped off the top step, Ashlyn and Tayles made it a few steps off the porch, and Basil just said Nope!

Meanwhile, on the Whiskered Homestead. We've spent every day outside, for as long as we can. Have accomplished so much!
Got the entire back of the property flattened and cleaned.Got all the metal sorted and organized into piles. Moved tires, wood, and paneling all to area by the big trees. Removed the broken shed from back corner, have been working at finishing the last mound of garbage but the metal is so thick its hard to get by it. Have cleared a ton of garbage through the side forest area, Got all electronics and cords over by the shed. Working on getting all tools in and organized inside the shed. Started on a walipini greenhouse,... so much work!
