One of the most common things I see in new clients who want to reverse their PCOS symptoms, have tried everything and still can’t lose weight? They’re not eating enough food!

And I know it sounds coutnerinutituve because if you want to lose weight you should ā€œeat less,ā€ right? But in reality that is SO not the case.

Our body needs fuel to function. Our hormones are literally made from amino acids in the protein we eat, cholesterol from the healthy fats we eat and the carbohydrates we consume drive the energy behind our hormones actually doing what needs to be done in our bodies.

FOOD IS INFORMATION FOR OUR BODY.

Of course, what we are eating, when and how much, is what we need to pay attention to.

I used to skip breakfast, have no protein at lunchtime, and then be starving at dinner and eat way too much.

This left my body in such a state of stress, which is why my PCOS symptoms were so bad - only got my period 2-3 times per year, was bloated all the time and gaining weight, getting daily headaches and couldn’t sleep through the night because of my anxiety.

My body was screaming at me to fix my hormones, and I’m SO happy that I listened because since then everything has changed.

I have WAY more energy now, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been physically, I get my period regularly with very minimal symptoms and I feel SO much more confident and connected to my body in a way I never had before.

So if you’re ready to make changes, learn how to eat FOR your hormones and reverse your symptoms, comment COMMUNITY below to get more info on my online community, Becoming Balanced Together (BBT), where you get weekly PCOS friendly meal plans (and lots more).

Getting diagnosed with cancer was the hardest time of my life but it also taught me so many life lessons! Here are just a few:

1. The small daily glimmers are actually more important than the big life events
2. Life is seriously so short. Don’t waste your time worrying about things that you can’t control
3. Our bodies are magic and they deserve to be celebrated & nourished
4. Our energy is limited, be intentional with how, where and with who you choose to spend it
5. The way we talk to ourselves plays a huge impact on our health & happiness. Watch how you speak to yourself
6. LIFE IS GOOD, nothing is that serious and we should just be having fun as much as possible!!!

Why not eating enough is making it even harder to lose weight with PCOS….

I know this one can feel confusing, because we’ve all been taught that eating less = weight loss.

But with PCOS, under-eating actually does the opposite.

When you’re skipping meals or not eating enough throughout the day, your body shifts into survival mode:• your metabolism slows down• cortisol increases• blood sugar becomes harder to regulate• cravings get stronger• weight loss becomes harder

Your body isn’t working against you, it’s actually trying to protect you.
And the goal isn’t to eat less.ļæ½It’s to eat consistently and intentionally, and learn HOW to actually balance your meals to promote hormone balance and weight loss.
Think:• balanced meals with protein, fiber, and healthy fats• eating those balanced meals 3x/day - breakfast, lunch & dinner• giving your body enough fuel to feel safe and get out of survival mode

Once you’re consistent with this, you will start to see and feel results pretty quickly!

If you’re tired of guessing what and how much to eat, that’s exactly what I help with inside my online membership Becoming Balanced Together šŸ¤

Most women with PCOS are given the same advice…

Eat less.
Work out more.ā€Øā€œJust lose weight.ā€
Get on birth control.

But here’s the problem…PCOS is not one-size-fits-all.

There are actually different root causes behind your symptoms, which is why what works for someone else might not be working for you.

For example:
• Some women are dealing with insulin resistance
• Others with chronic inflammation
• Others with high stress + cortisol
• And some after coming off birth control

And each of these requires a slightly different approach.

That’s why understanding your body is the first step to actually seeing results.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start, I’ve got you.

I created a free PCOS Type quiz that walks you through which PCOS type you likely have based off of common symptoms and what actions to take to start reversing your symptoms.

Why cutting carbs is actually not the solution for PCOS.

One of the most common pieces of advice women with PCOS hear is:ļæ½ā€œJust cut carbs.ā€

But here’s the problem with that…

Carbohydrates are your body’s main source of energy, and cutting them too aggressively can actually increase stress on the body and raise cortisol levels, which can worsen PCOS symptoms.

The real issue for many women with PCOS is insulin resistance, meaning the body has a harder time using glucose for energy.

So instead of eliminating carbs completely, the focus should be on blood sugar balance.

That means building meals with:• protein• fiber• healthy fats• and carbs

This combination slows down how quickly sugar enters the bloodstream, helps stabilize insulin levels, and keeps your energy steady throughout the day.

And the truth is… many of my clients actually start seeing better energy, fewer cravings, and easier weight loss once they stop fearing carbs and start learning how to eat them in a balanced way.

Why caffeine first thing in the morning can make PCOS symptoms worse ā˜•ļø

I know… this one can be a hard habit to break.

But when you drink coffee on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, it can spike cortisol (your main stress hormone) and increase blood sugar fluctuations, both of which can worsen PCOS symptoms over time.

And since many women with PCOS already struggle with insulin resistance and higher baseline cortisol, starting the day with caffeine before food can put your body into an even more stressed state.

Instead, try this simple shift:ļæ½Eat a balanced breakfast first. Something with protein, fiber, and healthy fats, and then have your coffee afterwards.

This small change can help:• stabilize blood sugar• support hormone balance• reduce cravings later in the day• improve energy levels

You don’t have to give up coffee completely (I definitely didn’t šŸ˜…), but when you drink it matters.

Habits I stopped doing that helped reverse my PCOS symptoms.

For a long time I thought I just needed to try harder.

Eat less.ļæ½Work out more.ļæ½Push through exhaustion.

But the truth is… a lot of the things I thought were ā€œhealthyā€ were actually making my PCOS symptoms worse.
Things like:• skipping meals• drinking coffee before eating• doing intense HIIT workouts all the time• rushing through my mornings in a stressed state• staying up too late scrolling instead of prioritizing sleep

All of those habits were keeping my body in constant stress mode, which makes it much harder for your hormones to regulate.

Once I started focusing on habits that support my body instead of stressing it out, like balanced meals, supportive workouts, better sleep, and nervous system regulation, everything started to shift.

My energy improved.ļæ½My cycle regulated.ļæ½My PCOS symptoms became manageable.
My constant bloating went away.

And no… it didn’t require being perfect or cutting out every food I enjoy.

Just consistency with the habits that actually support hormone health.

If you’re struggling with PCOS symptoms and feel like you’re doing everything right but still not seeing results, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
