• Swap processed sugars for natural sugars for 2 weeks and notice how cravings change
• Move your body daily — 7k steps/day is a great place to start with exercise

This is how you lower inflammation and help your body feel safe enough to heal without major restriction or burnout.

If you want to lose weight with PCOS, it doesn’t start with doing more, it starts with doing the right things consistently.

These are the 3 foundations I focus on (and teach my clients) because they tell your body it’s safe enough to let go of weight:

• Balanced meals with enough protein, fiber, and healthy fats to keep blood sugar stable
• 7–8k steps per day to improve insulin sensitivity and keep your metabolism active
• Slower mornings to calm your nervous system and reduce cortisol first thing in the day

When your body feels stressed, it holds on to weight for survival. When it feels supported, weight loss becomes possible.

Eating for PCOS doesn’t need to be complicated, I promise😍

One of the most common things I see in new clients who want to reverse their PCOS symptoms, have tried everything and still can’t lose weight? They’re not eating enough food!

And I know it sounds coutnerinutituve because if you want to lose weight you should “eat less,” right? But in reality that is SO not the case.

Our body needs fuel to function. Our hormones are literally made from amino acids in the protein we eat, cholesterol from the healthy fats we eat and the carbohydrates we consume drive the energy behind our hormones actually doing what needs to be done in our bodies.

FOOD IS INFORMATION FOR OUR BODY.

Of course, what we are eating, when and how much, is what we need to pay attention to.

I used to skip breakfast, have no protein at lunchtime, and then be starving at dinner and eat way too much.

This left my body in such a state of stress, which is why my PCOS symptoms were so bad - only got my period 2-3 times per year, was bloated all the time and gaining weight, getting daily headaches and couldn’t sleep through the night because of my anxiety.

My body was screaming at me to fix my hormones, and I’m SO happy that I listened because since then everything has changed.

I have WAY more energy now, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been physically, I get my period regularly with very minimal symptoms and I feel SO much more confident and connected to my body in a way I never had before.

For my PCOS girlies that just got a diagnosis and have no idea where to start….

I try to break it down into pillars to make it a bit easier:
Nutrition
- blood sugar balance with making sure you’re adding in a protein + fiber + to your meals
- Don’t skip meals
- Limit processed foods and replace with better ingredients & whole foods

Movement & exercise
- Focus on strength training! You need to build muscle, don’t be afraid to lift heavy
- Add in 2-3 days of low impact movement like yoga or pilates (great for the nervous system)
- At least 7k steps/day

Stress management & nervous system regulation
- Start with adding in a daily 5-10 min meditation
- Get enough sleep!!
- Add in box breathing throughout the day and especially at night

Supplementation
- Get testing done with a holistic practitioner if possible (like me & my team ;))! If you can’t afford this right now, just focus on the first three lifestyle shifts for 3-6 months and then get testing done because I promise you will see results by shifting some lifestyle habits first anyways

The #1 mistake I see in PCOS journeys? 👉 Skipping nervous system regulation.

You can be eating clean, working out, doing “all the right things”…

But if your body thinks it’s constantly in danger, it won’t let go of weight, inflammation, or hormonal imbalances.

Start regulating your nervous system daily. It’s the shift no one talks about (but everyone needs).

If you have PCOS and you’re still doing these things, it’s no wonder your symptoms aren’t improving:

• Skipping meals
• Coffee before food
• Restricting carbs + calories
• Caffeine late in the day
• Scrolling right before bed
• No protein or fiber with meals
• Stressful, rushed mornings

These habits keep your body in fight or flight mode, not healing, rest & digest mode.

And we can’t heal our hormone imbalances until we’re able to bring our body back to rest & digest.

Here’s what to do instead:
• Eat 3 blood sugar–balancing meals/day
• Prioritize 25–30g of protein at each meal
• Walk, take deep breaths or stretch in the morning before screens
• Cut off caffeine by 12–1PM
• Create a slow, screen‑free wind‑down routine before bed
• Give your body enough food to feel safe, no more restricting 
• Learn to regulate your nervous system daily

These small, consistent shifts change everything. Not overnight, but over time.

My mind was truly blown when I learned this because what do you mean my painful cramps, extreme bloating, super low energy and mood swings could be avoided….even with PCOS?!
