I spoke with someone this morning, sharing with her the joy many people in southern California are feeling today. She asked why that would be, and I answered with the Dodgers' winning the World Series. "Oh, that's ridiculous," she said. "I like it better when it's a team that hasn't won in a while, or it's something that's actually important." I felt floored, and I quit speaking entirely.

I realized that we all have our own perspectives in life, and I also wondered about my own! What ones might I be holding rigidly, blocking out simple enjoyment? I can certainly think of times earlier in my life when I saw the "bad" things more clearly than the "good." I hadn't even realized at the time what kind of impact this might be having on my personal experience of life, and on others around me. My wish is to help others find inspiration and uplift, rather than quashing anyone!
