Not all menopause symptoms need the same hormone fix — here’s a quick reference on which hormone helps what.
1. Estrogen
Main role: Replaces declining estrogen levels, which drive most classic menopausal symptoms.
Symptoms commonly improved with estrogen therapy:
✨Hot Flashes, Night Sweats
✨Mood Changes
✨Brain Fog
✨ Joint aches, Dry Hair and skin
✨ Feminine dryness / genitourinary syndrome of menopause ( GSM) , discomfort, increased UTIs and Over Active Bladder ( May need Vaginal Estrogen)
2. Progesterone-has calming, sedative effects.
✨Sleep difficulties
✨Anxiety or mood instability in perimenopause
3. Testosterone- can also decrease as we age
Symptoms potentially improved with testosterone therapy:
✨Low libido
✨Low energy / fatigue / motivation
✨Reduced muscle mass & strength
