📣 Do you have brand fatigue? To combat the constant visual noise from nonstop skincare marketing, a growing number of women are engaging in “visual decluttering.”
📰 This Allure article highlights the rising concept of “brand fatigue,” where people feel overwhelmed by endless attempts to sell them products.
🧴 “Visual decluttering” is a quiet rebellion against branded noise, achieved by removing labels or transferring products into unlabeled containers.
🛁 The practice isn’t just aesthetic—it helps people reclaim mental clarity in personal spaces like the bathroom.
🛍️ Some who practice visual decluttering say it has helped curb impulse shopping habits.
🏷️ Removing labels is described as a “rebranding” or “unbranding” ritual that allows individuals to embrace products more intentionally.
🧠 Ultimately, the practice encourages prioritizing formula and efficacy over branding and packaging.

💉 Imagine if you could inject your pimples at home. This might be the future of acne treatment.

🧪 Indomo is testing an at-home acne injection pen.

🌟 This Boston-based company was founded by veterans from Hims & Hers, Medtronic, and Starface.

✨ The company’s lead investigational program is ClearPen, an at-home injectable pen designed to treat inflammatory acne lesions.

🏠 ClearPen is designed to allow patients to self-administer intradermal steroids at home.

🔥 The device combines a proprietary microneedle delivery system with a reformulated version of triamcinolone acetonide, a steroid dermatologists use to rapidly reduce inflammation.

🏛️ Indomo is currently preparing for Phase 2 clinical trials to evaluate ClearPen’s safety, tolerability, and efficacy for at-home use.

🔮 Beyond acne, Indomo plans to expand its microneedle injection platform to treat other steroid-responsive skin conditions.

Today, on National Women’s Physicians Day, I’m reflecting on the incredible community of women who make medicine what it is today. I find so much fulfillment in giving back to the profession that has given me so much:

Mentorship: There is nothing more rewarding than supporting medical students and residents as they navigate their own paths in medicine.

Public Education: I love using social media as a tool for public education, breaking down complex skin health topics for a wider audience.

Collaboration: Speaking at meetings allows me to share my expertise while continuously learning from the brilliance of my amazing colleagues.

I am so grateful to walk this path alongside such inspiring women. Happy National Women’s Physicians Day! 🩺✨

🔥 Have you seen the viral “6–7” trend? Here’s how Sol de Janeiro jumped on it and launched a new fragrance in just 3 weeks.

🎵 This viral Gen Alpha / Gen Z slang originated from the 2024 rap song “Doot Doot (6-7)” by Skrilla, frequently edited over clips of NBA player LaMelo Ball (6'7").

🤨 Intentionally nonsensical, the slang “6-7” is used as a vague response, a rating for something average, or a random interjection meant to confuse anyone not in on the joke.

✨ Sol de Janeiro tapped into the trend by rapidly developing a limited-edition fragrance, Cheirosa 67, explicitly created to meet fan demand.

🗓️ In a massive deviation from traditional beauty R&D timelines, the product was developed and launched in under three weeks.

🛍️ Leveraging scarcity and drop culture, the brand launched the scent exclusively on their website and TikTok Shop.

🚀 The result? A 14,000+ person waitlist and 15,000+ bottles sold in the first 48 hours.

The second half of this year has been filled with incredible opportunities to connect with colleagues. Here’s a catch-up on my recent travels and speaking engagements:

📍 Australia & New Zealand | I kicked off the summer with an amazing opportunity to lecture at the Australasian College of Dermatologists on the treatment of hyperpigmentation. While there, I also spoke at Cerave’s symposium and had the chance to introduce their newest technologies to my Australian colleagues. One of the highlights was visiting my dermatology colleagues in Australia and New Zealand, including my former University of Miami colleague Dr. Lisa Connelly, who’s now practicing in New Zealand.

📍 Chicago | The next stop was the Pigmentary Disorders Exchange, founded by one of my mentors, Dr. Pearl Grimes MD. This meeting does a deep dive into what’s new in the diagnosis and management of pigmentary disorders—always such a valuable learning experience.

📍 London | My international travel wrapped up at the FACE conference, where the Science of Skin Summit hosted a satellite meeting.

📍 Chicago | After London, I went right back to Chicago for Summer where I spoke in two sessions: a Skin of Color session led by Dr. Susan Taylor MD FAAD and a Cosmeceuticals session led by Dr. Seemal R. Desai MD FAAD.

📍 Austin | I spoke at the , founded by and . This meeting covers everything new in skincare and haircare, and it’s always inspiring to be surrounded by such passionate experts.

📍 New York | Finally, in October at the , I was incredibly honored to be asked to join founders Dr. Andrew Alexis and Dr. Eliot F. Battle, Jr. MD as the conference’s program development advisor.

One of my favorite parts of my job is speaking at medical meetings. I learn so much from my colleagues, and preparing these lectures pushes me to stay current on the latest research and innovations.

When I started medical school, they told us we’d be studying for the rest of our lives—and they were absolutely right. I’m so grateful to be a lifelong learner in this ever-evolving field.

What an incredible weekend at the Inner Circle event!✨

📚It was an amazing educational program which explored the comprehensive clinical data supporting Nutrafol’s approach to hair health. The research is truly impressive - more than 20 publications, including three randomized controlled trials specifically examining Nutrafol’s effect on hair thinning.

❤️It was also so fun connecting with my derm friends. We learned together all day and then did a quick hike in the evening. We ended the night with a beautiful dinner, and aura readings!✨

🧪 What is the 500 Dalton rule?
The 500 Dalton rule states that molecules larger than 500 Daltons struggle to pe*****te through the stratum corneum via the intercellular route.

⚙️ This means most peptides, proteins, and large actives can't follow traditional pe*******on pathways and need alternative delivery systems (like liposomes) or follicular routes to be effective.
