When I’m stressed, I turn toward cooking about 50% of the time — which is a big upgrade from my historic 0% lol. Habesha food is the kind of meal that is both nourishing and deeply satisfying. Few dishes hit the spot while still making me feel like I’ve done something truly kind for myself. It also reminds me of the “home” of my twenties — the friendships and chosen family who taught me how to cook and eat this food.

Medicine extends beyond the table, beyond the treatment room, and beyond the frameworks of science and traditional healing arts. I want to keep being a reminder of all the love and medicine available to us each day. Good food and good company are just two of them.

This is a time of reflection, so let’s do it! It’s all gratitude for my 4+ years at ! I had to build my practice from scratch after moving from Seattle to Portland and CGWC was the place to make this happen. This is also the longest I’ve housed my clinic in one place and it speaks volumes for getting to have that kind of stability during ever increasing chaotic times. I’ve treated hundreds of patients out of this space, met many friends, and celebrated a decade in practice. My treatment style fundamentally shifted and has since transformed in a way that resonates deeply with who I am in the world and in my insides lol. I always believe in leaving places when you know it’s time, instead of waiting quite too long and vacating with a bitter taste in the mouth. I’m happy to say it’s all love from me. Thank you to all the folks at CGWC that I got to connect with and I hope this small business continues to thrive.

Now on to the next adventure! 🔥🌀🙏🏾💕👩🏾‍🎤

New location alert! Posting this fabulous pic of myself (in front of a wildly sick cloth that I decided to put on the wall that turned into a portal WTH) to announce that I’ll be housed in a new location starting Dec 1!

I’ll be located inside of on NE Fremont and 42nd working same days and same hours. 🔥

Getting text messages from patients are the best testimonials. I’ve been doing this work for over 12 years and it’s still amazing to me how much this medicine works. And the best situation is when the work actually feels collaborative- when it feels like the patient and I are working together to address the issue(s) at hand. It’s so sick lol 🙏🏾🥹🌀🔥

As of today, I am a certified TRE provider!

TRE stands for Tension, Trauma, Stress Releasing Exercises. As a provider, I take you through series of exercises and stretches that allow your body to shake/tremor effortlessly. This somatic therapy allows us to release what has been contracted in our bodies due to stress and tension from work, school, sitting, & living in this modern world; as a protective response to a traumatic situation; and from playing, moving, & using your body.

It’s safe, natural, and wildly effective. Look out in the coming weeks for workshops, classes and private sessions that I’ll be offering.

I had the distinct pleasure of offering my first acupuncture talisman ceremony to . This bright soul and incredible artist saw my handwriting in my journal during the trip and insisted I write on her, ceremonial style. I suggested we add acupuncture, bodywork, and ancestor channeling to the mix and make it a WHOLE situation. What she didn’t know is that for years I have had the idea of painting / writing on people’s body, but always got too scared to try it out. Her ask is a great gift to me.

I will be offering these ceremonies quite soon, so let me know if you have any initial interest. More details to come, as they become solidified in me 🌀🙏🏾🌸🤲🏾🔥

Everyone, including myself, getting treated by Tibetan medicine doctors. I have had this chronic problem since I was very young of my left ear not popping while flying- causing excruciating pain until it pops or we land. EVERY. TIME. And with all the care I’ve received in my life, I always forget to get this treated until I’m heading to the dang airport and then I remember. Enough is enough y’all lol. He gave me three different medicines to take for the next 10 days. One of them is made to open up all the channels and vessels in my head to allow the blood to flow, dispersing any blood and qi stagnation. Special shoutout to Dawa for translating all our problems lol!
