The Momnibus Act has been reintroduced—and this moment is bigger than policy. It's about protection. It's about accountability. It's about us. 🖤
First introduced in 2020 by Congresswomen Alma Adams and Lauren Underwood, alongside Senator Cory Booker, through the Black Maternal Health Caucus, the Momnibus Act was created in response to a crisis our communities have been naming for generations. While pieces have been passed, the full vision—one that truly centers Black mothers and birthing people—still calls for continued advocacy.
Because the truth is: this fight didn't start with legislation. It started with us.
For too long, Black mothers and birthing people have carried the weight of a system that wasn't built to hold us. The Momnibus Act pushes for real change—investing in community-based care, mental health support, doulas and midwives, and the resources we actually need to thrive.
At BLKBRY, we believe in pouring into each other while pushing for systems that pour into us, too.
This isn't just legislation.
This is life-saving work.
Stay informed. Share the message. Advocate with intention—and tag your representatives.
Because Black maternal health deserves more than conversation—it deserves commitment.
