Today I took a simple walk with my daughter through the neighborhood. It was not long, yet it was lovely — time well spent together, collecting small offerings from the earth to place upon our Mabon altar. Fruits and flowers, nuts and leaves, each a quiet gift of the season. We will set them outside, where the creatures of the garden may search through them in their own time.
Later, I will sit at the altar, holding space for myself and reflecting on the turning of the wheel, as autumn ushers us ever closer to Samhain. I love this season dearly: the colors shifting day by day, the crispness in the air, the gentle reminder that the year moves toward its close.
Today I was simply grateful for a short walk with someone I adore. My altar remains my safe space — a place of reverence and gratitude, where I may meet myself, my Anam Cara, and any who wish to join me, seen or unseen.
