Sometimes we think we are overwhelmed when really we are exhausted.
Or hurt.
Or anxious.
Or disappointed.

There is power in naming what you are actually feeling.

Because once you name it, you can meet yourself with more understanding and less judgment.

My kind of Spring Cleaning. Clean out the shower and add a fresh bunch of eucalyptus. Aromatherapy at its best. Nothing says fresh, clean and invigorating like eucalyptus. A lovely morning wake up.

Take a short breath in.
Then let it out for longer than you breathed in.
For example, breathe in for 3.
And breathe out for 5 or 6.
A longer exhale tells your nervous system you are safe.
It helps your body begin to relax, soften and settle.

When stress builds up, emotions can start to feel overwhelming or confusing.

A simple practice that helps regulate the nervous system is this:

Pause and ask yourself:

“What am I feeling right now?”

Then name it gently.

Maybe it’s:

• frustration
• worry
• sadness
• uncertainty

Research shows that naming emotions actually reduces their intensity.

You don’t have to fix the feeling.

Just noticing it with kindness can bring surprising relief.

Sometimes the first step toward calm is simply saying:

“Ah… this is what I’m feeling.”

Let me know if you try this one. It’s a great daily practice to check in with yourself.

If the news cycle, the noise, or the stress of the world feels like too much today… try this.

When anxiety rises, our nervous system thinks we’re in danger.
The fastest way to calm it is to bring your body back into the present moment.

Here’s a simple reset:

• 5 things you can see
• 4 things you can feel
• 3 things you can hear
• 2 things you can smell
• 1 slow breath

It takes less than a minute, but it reminds your brain:
I am here. I am safe in this moment.

Small resets like this are how we stay grounded while still showing up for the world.

✨ Try it and tell me if it helped.
