With big storm systems hitting parts of the U.S. and Canada this week, now’s the time to double-check your basics before heading out on long storm shifts.
Here are 3 real-world tips from 2 experienced lineworkers at IBEW Local 77:
1. PACK A STORM GO-BAG
Hydration, electrolytes, and easy snacks keep you steady when it’s 2 a.m. and nothing good is open.
2. BRING EXTRA CLOTHES + TOILETRIES
Fresh socks, a clean shirt, toothbrush, eye drops,etc. Small resets make a big difference.
3. CHOOSE SUSTAINED ENERGY
Skip the crash. Choose pre-workout or electrolytes over energy drinks when you need long-lasting focus.
