My kiddo woke up with the yuck that is going around. In TCM, we use gua sha to release wind cold and wind heat, aka the common cold and flu. This technique looks intense from the results but is, in fact, a gentle technique that people love.

As soon as I finished this technique with my daughter, she popped her head up and said, " How does that always make me feel so much better, Mom?!?! You're magic!"

Thank you academy for this post!

Aging is part of life, but stress has a huge impact on how well we all age.

😎 Stress affect our adrenals and our sleep, lowers our immune system, increase cravings, creates inflammation, muscle tension and so much more!

😎Acupuncture has been proven to put the patients into a parasympathetic state (rest and recover state), which is the opposite of STRESS witch puts us into a sympathetic state (fight or flight).

😎Acupuncture triggers the body ability to self regulate and self heal, therefore consistency is key to success when it comes to using acupuncture as part of a treatment plan.

😎Over my 18 years of practice, I’ve had patients coming weekly for months, then once everything was balanced, they would switch to monthly sessions.
I’ve had a patient who has booked her acupuncture visit on the last Friday of every month for 13 years now!

😎Acupuncture might not give us immortality, but it truly ROCKS!

Thank you for being a willing and fun patient for this Reel 🥰

This morning, my little grabbed my business card on the way out the door to give to her gym teacher. She told me his back has really been bothering him, and she wants him to come see me. She also said it's because she wants me to make more money to take her on a vacation! 🤣🤣🤣

Trigger points are sore, painful knots found in muscles. These knots are sensitive and when pressure is applied they produce deferred pain. A trigger point massage helps work out these knots and reduce the pain associated with them.

Vital Root, the beginning

Hello everyone and welcome to Vital Root’s page. My name is Jill Becker and this is my story of how I discovered my calling and passion in life, Traditional Chinese Medicine. First, I want to clarify that I say Traditional Chinese Medicine because the medicine incorporates much more that just needles/acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on many aspects of treatment from nutrition, which is a form of medicine, to hands on modalities like cupping or Tui Na, which is Chinese massage, the herbal medicine aspect, and of course acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine is an all encompassing medicine that is both brilliant, beautiful, and can treat/support an array of health concerns including but not limited to; pain, immune system support, women’s health, digestive health, and more all through balancing the body. My journey began several years ago when a friend of mine decided to try acupuncture for the sniffles. I myself, suffered throughout my youth and adult life with asthma/allergies and I was interested to see what came of her treatment. She saw fantastic results and so I decided I had to try acupuncture myself. I scheduled my first appointment and was still somewhat apprehensive but wanted to give it a try. During my first appointment my practitioner went through several questions taking a very thorough health history and then she took a look at my tongue and felt the pulses in my wrists. She then had me lay on the table and inserted a few needles and then left the room to let me relax for a bit with the needles in. Afterwards we discussed some food options that would be beneficial to incorporate into my diet and a few foods to leave out as they may be aggravating my allergies and asthma. I left the office afterwards feeling very relaxed and happy but was still skeptic about what had just happened. Over the next week I was amazed at how much better I felt and the symptoms of my allergies were lessened. The following week I went back and had follow up appointment which included acupuncture and this time the practitioner prescribed herbal medicine for me to take as well. My results improved even more! I felt this fire ignite in my heart as I have always been interested in practicing medicine but did not want to practice the way the western system is designed. After discovering acupuncture and herbs I knew I had found my passion!!! I had found a medicine where I could help people without the constraints of the western system. I had truly found my calling. After discovering my calling I ran with it and applied to The Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I was accepted and started my scholastic career in May of 2017. It has been 3 long years consisting of accelerated coursework every trimester, but I made it to the end and will be graduating as soon as the social distancing order is over and I can finish out my required clinical hours. In the meantime I have established my LLC. and I am working towards my State board certification so that I may start my practice as soon as I am able! I can’t wait to work with everyone as I have seen over the years of practicing in school just how amazing Traditional Chinese Medicine is!
