“…. Most people …are addicted …to some negative emotions or the other.
…. Three common states people make …into habits are: anger related states like irritation, frustration or road rage; …fear related states, such as tension, stress, anxiety or even panic; …sadness related states such as loneliness, dullness, insecurity or depression.
…. Our negative emotions are because we are caught in many movies about the past and the future in our heads.”
“…. These emotions …are habits, and …they hurt you and they hurt others around you.
…. The human brain …is trained to remember something that is unpleasant …to ensure survival, …and the part of the brain that …feeds on negativity is the amygdala.
…. We have to shift ...activity from the amygdala to the prefrontal cortex …to be in the present moment …and to declutch ourselves from these movies…
…. This shift …can only happen if you push your brain into observation.
Can you simply observe and name which emotion is arising within you? Aha! This is anger, …anxiety, …sadness. …. And then, shift your awareness to your eyebrow center and see a tiny flame there.
…. With this simple practice, you will cut through negativity and wire your brain to positivity.”
