Discount health savings plan vs discount health savings account. A discount health savings plan is usually a membership plan offered by a company to assist individuals who pay for health care services straight out of pocket. Instead of paying regular full cost, the customer pays a lower rate price for services.

A discount savings account is usually an account setup with funds to pay for health care services. It is a dedicated account setup for the sole purpose of paying for maybe deductibles or co-pays, etc.

The two are not the same. However, both are very useful.....in conjunction with health insurance.

One great benefit with discount health plans are...........you never have to worry about pre-existing conditions or those worrisome waiting periods. How can you utilize the dental benefits if you already have dental insurance? Well, we all know, most of the time, insurance will only pay for a set amount of dental work the first year. If there's something that you can't wait another year to complete, the discount dental can be an excellent backup plan.

Sample savings on a crown: Average full cost ($1137). If you have the Careington 500 Series Plan: You would only pay $315, yielding a 72% savings on the much-needed dental care.

One potential client just confined in me about searching for health insurance on marketplace. He said, working part-time, weekend's....his premium will be $445 per month. Keep in mind he will still have a deductible and co pay. The client says he's going to keep on searching. My suggestion, try the discount health plan, if going to be paying out of pocket. At least, he will save on the out of pocket expenses.
