It takes more than one person to plant a street tree

Two-person staff teams plant each tree.
FUF- Friends of the Urban Forest has started planting in SF again.
It’s inspiring volunteer work! You work in a larger group, it takes two people to plant the tree. You are given a short lesson on just what to do- fun, easy, and wow! I feel good when I see what we’ve done!!

They have honey they put up, available in the gift shop!
Make sure to take the “Estate Trail” through the pasture and back property to Reds Barn, past oaks, redwoods, bay, manzanita and madrone. ( note: uneven dirt trail) well-marked.

At Montalvo Art Center, you’ll find a variety of exotic plants, it’s a great place for a walk, a stroll, a snooze on the big green lawn or a hike!!

Discovering another Culture: Today we celebrated Baisakhi, We learned more about the Punjabi area of India, and the traditions of peacefulness and helping others. I’m so glad I was able to attend!
The music, food and dancing were so much fun. The men leaned how to tie a turban, we had a fashion show, singing and we had a brief meditation. The decorations, fabrics and colors were so happy; celebrating harvest.

I have also wanted to do this- “Swim with the Manatees”! We had a manatee at our local SF Aquarium, as a vegetarian her tank always had cabbages and other veggie snacks to eat ... she was called an “ocean going Potato” by a snarky journalist. But Butterball was the highlight of my visit.
