At Neuro RehabCare of Waterloo, we’re spreading love and joy throughout Valentine’s month! 💕

Our newest client, Lori, beamed with delight over her festive goodie bag and fun headband. Meanwhile, our talented CNA Mercadez used her nail technician skills to pamper Anne with a special nail day—creating beautiful results and a meaningful bonding moment.

Extra love, pink, chocolate, and care are always welcome here! ❤️💅

We had a relaxed afternoon at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. New experiences, good stretches, coffee, and plenty of laughs with friends.

Ryan loved the building’s architecture and got an artist to turn on his spinning art fans—then had everyone laughing retelling the story back at NRC.

Juan and Braiden shared laughs while Braiden tried putting his foot behind his head.

Max shared animal facts from the art, mentioning giraffes and elephants in Guatemala (at the zoo, of course!). That sparked plans for a group trip to the KC Zoo.

Graham practiced wheeling around the museum and enjoyed a great coffee-dessert combo.

Chris got in many steps, discussed the art with Alexa, and finished with a hot coffee and some relaxation.
These outings celebrate progress, strengthen friendships, and create new memories.

Big smiles and even bigger pride today at Neuro RehabCare!

Watch Anne create her very own ‘Yogurt Delight’ snack with wonderful guidance from our team member Sonja. From carefully reading the directions, remembering each step, to mixing and assembling everything herself—she did it all!

This simple, delicious activity is fantastic for building cognitive skills, sequencing, memory, and fine motor coordination. Moments like these show the real progress and joy that come from personalized neuro rehab.

Way to go, Anne—you should be so proud!

Several of our clients joined the Creative Connections group at Olathe Indian Creek Library—a welcoming program for adults with disabilities focused on creativity and community!

The group enjoyed learning about snowflakes, watched a fun mason-jar snowstorm demo, and created winter crafts together.

One client had everyone laughing with his original jokes, while another shared a warm conversation in Spanish with the bilingual librarian—such joyful moments!
These community outings support social engagement, confidence, and independence—important steps in their rehabilitation journey.

Big thanks to our dedicated therapists who make these meaningful experiences possible!

At Neuro RehabCare, we’re proud to help every individual thrive through community connection. 💙

Heidi and Ann are absolutely crushing their goals—and looking fabulous while doing it!

They both love starting each day with hair and makeup done, a little boost that reminds them how far they’ve come.

One of the most beautiful parts of our program? The genuine friendships that form. Through shared challenges and triumphs, our clients lean on each other, lift each other up, and build unbreakable bonds.

We love watching this support in action—it’s a powerful part of the healing journey at Neuro RehabCare.

Here’s to progress, confidence, and the strength found in community!

Congratulations to Matthew on his successful discharge from Neuro RehabCare!

It has been an honor to support Matthew’s progress and get to know his incredible spirit during his time with us.

Discharge from inpatient neurorehabilitation represents a key achievement: regained functional independence, strengthened neural pathways through intensive therapy, and readiness for the next chapter—whether continuing gains at home, in outpatient care, or in the community.

We wish Matthew all the best on his ongoing journey of recovery and growth. Thank you for trusting us with your care! 💙

At Neuro RehabCare, play is powerful medicine. Armando and Juan teamed up for Jenga with Braiden and Alexa—transforming blocks into breakthroughs.

Why Jenga excels in neurorehabilitation:

It demands delicate hand-eye coordination and controlled movements to remove and stack blocks, strengthening neural pathways for dexterity and precision.

It challenges prolonged standing for Armando, fostering improved balance, endurance, and confidence in weight-bearing positions.

It incorporates progressive resistance with Juan’s wrist weight, promoting muscle activation, joint stability, and functional upper limb gains.

Activities that blend challenge, strategy, and enjoyment accelerate recovery by harnessing neuroplasticity. Proud of their focus and achievements today!

Our weekly outing to the KU Natural History Museum in Lawrence was truly special and filled with warmth.
A dedicated group of therapists joined us—welcoming some new team members—and everyone cherished the shared experience.
Conversations flowed naturally in both English and Spanish among clients and staff, adding to the sense of connection.
Ryan and Max navigated the stair lift with ease and comfort.
Dominic’s eyes sparkled at his beloved dinosaurs!
Armando and Max demonstrated impressive strength and perseverance as they powered their wheelchairs up the ramps.
Juan, Chris, and Dominic confidently used the stairs to explore each level.
The group remained engaged and active throughout, adapting seamlessly to the environment and fully utilizing the museum’s thoughtful handicap-accessible features—including the stair lift and ramps—which ensured everyone could participate equally and enjoy the day without barriers.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the KU Natural History Museum for their commitment to inclusive, welcoming spaces that made this outing so meaningful, effortless, and joyful for our entire group.
At Your Rehab Care, we are privileged to guide our patients from hospital diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and spinal cord injury (SCI) toward a confident return home. Experiences like this foster greater independence, community connection, and genuine joy in the recovery journey.

Armando is putting in incredible effort in therapy alongside Braiden!

He tackled multiple flights of stairs today, building endurance, lower-body strength, balance, and confidence with every step. These real-world challenges are helping him regain independence and push his limits in a supportive environment.

So proud of Armando’s determination and progress—one powerful stride at a time.

Our Neuro RehabCare community enjoyed a fun pottery painting adventure.

Our residents took the lead in planning this outing over several days—practicing executive functioning, decision-making, and teamwork every step of the way. At the studio, they honed fine motor skills, unleashed their creativity, worked on budgeting, and strengthened social pragmatics in a real-world setting.

We are beyond impressed and proud of their beautiful creations.

Rebuilding skills, confidence, and joy—one brushstroke at a time.
