Hello Winter.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is Kidney season, home of our deepest reserves, our Jing, our life battery.

This is the time of year to slow down, warm, and store. Rest becomes medicine. Stillness becomes nourishment. The Kidneys crave quiet, early nights, warm foods that move slow through the body: black beans, bone broth, walnuts, miso, warming spices like ginger and cinnamon.
Keep the low back and feet warm, avoid cold drinks, and sip deeply from broths and teas that comfort from within.

Herbalism is lifestyle medicine. It lives in the everyday choices we make, not just in tinctures and capsules lined up on a shelf. Sometimes the most meaningful support comes inside a glass, a meal, a moment.

Lately I’ve been playing with the idea of herbs as part of what we already enjoy, and an herbal twist on the classic Arnold Palmer became one of my favorites. Cold-pressed fresh lemon juice meets black tea, rounded with lemongrass — bright, refreshing, and functional.

The best part? Herbs don’t have to be an extra task. They can slip right into routines already in motion. Lemongrass is soothing to digestion, helps release tension in the body, and brings a calm clarity that feels like exhaling at the end of a long day. Healthcare doesn’t always need to be loud to be powerful — it’s real power is simple, subtle, and daily.

A drink with benefits — no overwhelm, no rules, just nourishment woven into something familiar.

What herbal drink would you love to see reinvented?
Tell me your ideas below. 🍋🌿

Stuffing isn’t just stuffing.

It’s an herbal formula disguised as a side dish.

Sage — digestive support, warming, helps break down rich foods
Thyme — antimicrobial, lung-supportive, great for winter season
Rosemary — increases circulation, clears the head, antioxidant-rich
Onion + Celery — move digestion, reduce stagnation, mineral-dense

Before modern medicine, these herbs were everyday tools for staying well through cold months. Families didn’t season food for trend — they seasoned for function. Flavor was the bonus.

So when you spoon stuffing onto your plate this year, notice what’s really there:
a blend of herbs that have been keeping humans healthy for centuries and served with turkey.

Traditional medicine didn’t disappear… it just became dinner.

If you were sitting here with me and said, “Okay, what should I actually take this winter so I don’t get sick?” I’d tell you straight: echinacea is my number one. ❄️
Not because it’s trendy, but because it works when you use it correctly. While it can boost immunity — it also modulates it. It’s best use is to help your immune system respond faster and more effectively when something’s trying to take hold.
People always ask whether to use pills, tea, or tincture. ❄️
Here’s my honest answer: tincture. ❄️
It’s stronger, it’s portable, and you don’t have to prepare anything. You can adjust the dose anytime, anywhere. That matters in the real world. ❄️
Here’s how I use it:
• If you’ve been exposed but feel fine:
Take 1 full dropperful 3–4 times a day for a couple days. This is the “get ahead of it” phase.
• If you feel even the smallest symptom — especially a throat tickle: ❄️
Don’t wait. ❄️
Take 1 dropperful every 1–2 hours until it eases up.
That’s it. No drama. It’s one of the simplest, most reliable herbs for winter. ❄️
More practical winter herb posts coming.

As Thanksgiving approaches and New England settles into its cold, close-quarters season, the rich foods, the sweets, and the celebratory drinks begin to fill our days — joyful, yes, but also a quiet strain on the immune system. 🦃🦃🦃
A daily spoonful of house-made elderberry syrup (with local raw honey, never sugar) is my steady remedy — the one I reach for before the feast, after dessert, and all through the holiday bustle. 🍾🍾🍾
A little tradition… a little protection… a little love in a bottle. 🖤🍇✨

Zzz’s | Herbal Sleep Tea 🌙

You’re exhausted.
But your mind’s still going — replaying, planning, worrying.
You want rest, but your body forgot how to get there.

This tea helps you slow down enough to feel human again.
The peppermint clears your head,
the hops and skullcap ease the noise,
and the lavender softens everything.

You don’t have to do anything else right now.

✨ Organic: skullcap, chamomile, passionflower, peppermint, hops, lavender

You ever feel like your brain’s just… fried?

Like you’re tired but wired — too much coffee, too much thinking, too much everything.

This Blue Chai is great when you hit that wall.

It’s this deep blue cup that tastes like chai but feels like calm. 💙

Definitely not your typical butterfly pea — but it does the job.

The chai spices scream sweater weather, and the butterfly pea brings a little peace. 🍂

That’s enough some days. ✨

💜 Elderberry Elixir
A dreamy mix of herbs + mushrooms that keeps your immune system cozy, calm, and ready for anything.
Think of it as your herbal flu shot — but make it delicious.
Add a splash to your juice, tea, or even seltzer.
Sip daily, stay radiant. ✨🌿

No one really talks about how emotional the last weeks feel.
🍃
You’re in the thick of it — swollen feet, restless nights, emotions that come and go without reason.
🍃
Excited, but also a little scared.
Tired, but your mind won’t slow down.
🍃
So, you make a cup of Daily Nourish. 🍃
The warmth feels grounding, the herbs — nettle, oat straw, raspberry leaf, rose — remind you to take care of yourself, too.
🍃
It’s not magic, just a quiet moment that softens the edges of the day. 🍃
You take a sip, close your eyes, and finally — exhale. ✨
