This week, April 5 – 11, Sheridan Memorial Hospital is celebrating the important work our Patient Access and Patient Scheduling teams do every day to help ensure a seamless healthcare experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

From scheduling appointments and verifying insurance to collecting patients' medical information and helping them navigate our facilities, these individuals are crucial to our hospital’s mission to serve our community with excellent, patient-centered care.

We’re delighted to share that the National Rural Health Association recently recognized Sheridan Memorial Hospital as one of the Top 20 Rural & Community Hospitals in the country in 2026. 🎉

This ranking is based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health of approximately 800 healthcare facilities around the nation.

“We are honored to be recognized alongside other exceptional healthcare systems as this reinforces the work we do each day to provide excellent, patient-centered care close to home,” Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s CEO Mike McCafferty said. “I’m grateful to the teams at SMH that ensure our community can rely on us to deliver high-quality care as part of their healthcare journey.”

Our SameDay Health & Imaging clinic will be closed this Sunday, April 5, so our team members can enjoy the holiday with their families, friends and loved ones. 🐰🐣

The clinic will be open during its regular hours on Saturday, April 4, from 9 am – 4 pm, and on Monday, April 6, from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm.

On Tuesday, March 3, the Sheridan County Commission approved an affiliation and services agreement that lays the groundwork for Sheridan Memorial Hospital's strategic partnership with Billings Clinic — a step designed to strengthen local healthcare while preserving our independence as a county memorial hospital. 🤝🏥

This affiliation creates new opportunities for collaboration between our two organizations, including clinical programs, technology and operational support. It also positions Sheridan Memorial Hospital to achieve meaningful cost efficiencies while continuing to serve our community with excellent, patient-centered care.

A new entity, Sheridan Health, has been formed as a Wyoming nonprofit corporation to facilitate the affiliation, which brings together the best of our community leadership and industry expertise to continue serving patients in northern Wyoming.
