Due to an administrative error, Wesley's Medicaid was abruptly canceled on his birthday with no warning and the only reason we knew was because muktiple Doctor's that he sees were calling and telling us. We currently have no access to his special needs diapers, oxygen refills, health insurance and our income. I am upset, stressed and shocked.

We have emailed, called, gone to the office and had friends try to help us escalate his case but they are saying it can't be done. He has an inpatient stay the next 2 days (we waited a year for this appointment) and we will have to be personally billed and hope they don't give issues with reinstating after this waiting period.

How is this happening again? I don't understand why we have to keep suffering for other people's mistakes. Having a child with a terminal illness is stressful enough. Now we have to worry about putting food on our table and figuring out how to get his diapers and oxygen for the next however long this takes... No one is being held accountable. My heart is extra heavy after finding out this morning that one of our Hunter Syndrome boys gained his wings today. 💔

Thinking about my friend and her beautiful Karson. He was just a young boy.

We really need a cure for this awful disease.

I am going to be hosting a virtual bingo event on January 31st (Wesley's birthday) at 1pm.

Wes and I will be on our this page (MPS Cure Hunter) live that day to call bingo numbers and give away awesome prizes!

Everything we earn will be going to Project Alive which looks for a cure for Hunter Syndrome and helps families like ours. 💜

I have been reaching out to local businesses to ask for donations for prizes. I wanted to check to see if you all had any ideas on who else I could reach out to. Please send me a message if you do. 😊

We can't thank the Mayor and his team enough for making it an unforgettable day for Wesley! 💜

On Saturday, November 22, Mayor Willis and many City of Westfield staff members participated in a Make-A-Wish parade for Wesley, a 4-year-old resident with Hunter Syndrome whose wish was to have a school bus themed golf cart. Westfield Welcome, the city's events team, coordinated the parade in Wesley's neighborhood. Thank you to all who participated and made Wesley's dream come true!
