Dr. Harold Turk, D.C.

Dr. Harold Turk, D.C. Private Coach • Maori Trained Healer & Bodyworker • Dr. of Chiropractic Chiropractic

Dr. Turk is a Chiropractor by degree, with over 20 years of experience.

I offer a one-stop shop for a conversational and physical therapeutic approach to healing, blending coaching work, traditional Maori-style body therapy and Chiropractic, to liberate and help my clients. Modalities of treatment are customized to include any combination that each client needs for each session. Chiropractic is an integrative, holistic practice, focused on correcting misalignments of the spine, otherwise known as subluxation. He offers spinal adjustments to alleviate his clients’ pain associated with such misalignments. He incorporates these adjustments as a part of a body therapy component of his work, in order to deepen the release of tension stored in the body. Maori-style healing & body therapy

This somatic therapy (soma, meaning body) takes a holistic mind-body approach to heal the body and stored trauma. It is rooted in the indigenous modality developed by the Maori people, who are native to New Zealand. This specialized and deeply moving approach views pain and disease as an expression of stored trauma and stagnant emotions held in the body. To clear these energies, Maori-trained bodyworkers tune into an intuitive connection with each client and his/her body to support the release of those stored traumas and emotions at a musculo-cellular level. Private coaching

Deeply committed to healing, personal development and evolution, Dr. Turk knows the powerful mind-body connection: how our beliefs and traumas of our past drive our actions and impact our overall life, health & well-being. Dr. Turk has observed his clients' mental turbulence and emotional traumas manifest in the body and in every area of their lives. His coaching style incorporates intuitive and practical approaches that support clients as they make some of the most important adjustments in their lives. Private coaching sessions are available either live or virtual. Virtual consultation

This complimentary video consultation is to be utilized for prospective clients, in order to get to know each other, as well as to discover if my services can provide a solution for your needs. At the end of that conversation, there will be an opportunity to book an appointment, however the consultation does not obligate you in any way.

For those who think they might not want kids — or for anyone who finds themselves on an unexpected or alternative life path — this is for you.

Both my personal and professional life took turns I never imagined. And yet, here I am, learning to celebrate it.

It’s only in looking back on these various areas of my life that it all makes perfect sense how I arrived here.

If you had told me when I first graduated from Chiropractic College that I’d one day be helping guide people’s lives, and integrating emotional healing with physical healing, I would have thought you didn’t know me at all.

Through some poor unconscious decisions, a great deal of serendipity, meeting amazing teachers and mentors, and what I would call, “Gods plan”, I found myself on this path to integrating both into my work and practice.

If you told me I would have met my wife I was to marry at 48, and then deciding to not have kids together, I would have also thought you were crazy.

After 13 years without a relationship, and with a very clear vision of my future that included being an older parent, the idea of a life without kids never even crossed my mind.

It’s true what they say: we make plans, and God laughs.

And yet — here we are.

For anyone finding themselves on an unexpected path in any area of life, I offer this:

Have a clear vision, but allow yourself the flexibility for the universe — or God — to participate, contribute, and even reshape that vision.

There is nothing wrong with you. This new path is you.

Look to your mistakes, your past traumas, and the things that bring you joy. Let them be guideposts rather than regrets.

Seek wise counsel from people you respect who can help illuminate the way.

Find the chutzpah within you to follow YOUR path _ then give it everything you’ve got.

Harold ~

Our Story

I’m Dr. Harold Turk, D.C., and by degree, I’m a Chiropractor, but here’s more about what I do. I help people transform their health and life through physical and emotional healing. No matter what doctor you go to, they will always look at you with a kind of glasses or education they were trained with, nothing more and nothing less. My training and skill-set goes beyond being a Chiropractor. I take a step back from any one particular education or technique in order to see you from many perspectives. I assess people physically and structurally, as well as mentally, emotionally and energetically; I see all parts of you and the relationship of how they all come together. No, I’m not a therapist, but I am extremely skilled in the emotional aspect of healing. When people talk with me, I can hear where things are stuck. I have a very trained ear in listening for the dissonance or misalignment in people emotionally and energetically. I utilize that skill-set in listening to begin a dialogue while working with clients physically, and I pay very close attention for how it relates to every aspect of people’s physical life and bodily symptoms. Along with this specialized skill in listening, I’m also highly trained in a very specialized form of hands on deep tissue massage-style body work. It’s not massage though, it only looks and feels that way.

Unlike massage, which is basically designed to relax you, this body-therapy is designed to wake you up and give you energy. It’s designed to help you connect with what’s going on within your body, including emotionally.

No, it doesn’t have a name, a lot of people ask me that. It has a lot of different influences, but mostly it comes from the indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maori. – a few of them are very dear friends and teachers of mine.

It’s a cathartic form of body-therapy that helps people heal and express their feelings that are stuck deep within them, while they simultaneously heal their physical body; seeing how the two relate is where the magic happens.
