🎃 What a spooktacular few days it’s been! 👻

On Thursday, we hosted our 2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treat with over 500 people in attendance! Thank you to everyone who came out, decorated a trunk, and passed out candy to all the kiddos. The hayride was definitely a fan favorite! 🚜🍬

Then on Friday, our employees showed off their Halloween spirit during the costume contest, judged by our special guest Wendy from United Way of Grayson County and SMC’s very own, Jerwayne. 🧙‍♀️🎭

So much fun, creativity, and community all wrapped up into one amazing Halloween celebration! 🕸🧡

We were blown away by the creativity and effort everyone put into their pumpkins this year! A huge thank you to our wonderful community judges who joined us to help pick the winners and share in the fun — we truly appreciate your time and support. 🙌

A special thank you to everyone who participated in the silent auction, we raised $510 to benefit the United Way of Grayson County! ❤️

Our team showed up in full pink spirit to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month - honoring survivors, remembering those we've lost, standing with those fighting, and reminding everyone about early detection. 💪🎀

🎊Congratulations to our Daisy and Pillar Award Winners, Gustavo Lopez, RN and Susan Etheredge, PT! 🎊
As a PACU nurse, Gustavo goes above and beyond to provide exceptional care for every patient. When a patient became unstable and needed to be transferred to a hospital in the metroplex, Gustavo didn't hesitate - he accompanied the patient to ensure safe and seamless care. He's the kind of nurse who always puts patients first, whether it's stepping in wherever he's needed or playing calming music to help pediatric patients feel safe after a procedure. It's no surprise that Gustavo was nominated by not just one, but three of his coworkers who see his compassion and dedication every day.

Susan Etheredge is recognized for her incredible dedication to patient care. When a patient needed an evaluation on a Saturday, Susan - who wasn't even on call - answered the phone, came in on her day off, and stayed late to educate the patient and family on exercises to support recovery and long-term wellness. This is just one of the many ways Susan goes above and beyond for our patients every single day for almost 30 years!

Thank you, Gustavo and Susan, for embodying compassion, excellence, and the true spirit of patient care!

💗 What an amazing morning! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our annual Break for Breakfast event. We loved catching up with familiar faces and meeting so many new ones — you’re what makes this community so special.

A heartfelt thank-you to Douglas Floral, Hannah's Florist and AHS Sherman Medical Center Auxiliary for the donation of gorgeous pink roses we shared with breast cancer survivors. 🌸 Your kindness helped make the morning even brighter.

And of course, a big shoutout to Shermena the Unicorn — the life of the party who danced her way into everyone’s hearts (and photos🤣)! 🦄💃

This event is one of our favorite traditions — a chance to come together, raise awareness, and remind everyone that early detection is the best protection.
