Exhaustion Isn’t a Personal Failure. It’s a Burnout Signal.

If you’re a nurse or healthcare professional, this might sound familiar.

You finally get into bed after a long shift.
Your body is exhausted, but your mind won’t turn off.
You replay patient interactions. You think about charting. You wake up at 2 or 3 AM for no clear reason.
Then you drag yourself through the next day, foggy, irritable, and reaching for caffeine and carbs by mid-afternoon.

This isn’t because you’re bad at resting.
It’s because chronic burnout keeps your nervous system stuck on high alert, even when your body desperately needs sleep.
