As the weather gets chillier and winter flu and cold season continues, it’s important to take steps to prevent illness and to check in with you and your child’s health care providers.

To boost your winter wellness, prioritize sleep, take vitamin D supplements (with approval from your doctor), sip herbal teas to warm your body, use a humidifier to prevent nose bleeds and sore throats from dry winter air, and wash your hands regularly with warm soapy water. 🍵💤🧼

We’ve been notified that the Ohio WIC Shopper app is currently down.

If you’re trying to check your benefits, the app is unable to show current loaded benefits. If your card has been loaded for December, you are able to use your card at the store.

Participants are more than welcome to stop by the office, and we’ll be happy to print out your current benefits list for you! 🖨️

The following message is based on information the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has as of November 6, 2025.

ODH has secured additional funding to sustain the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) into December.

IMPORTATNT UPDATE: OHIO WIC remains open for business! WIC clinics will continue to operate during the government shutdown. This includes providing food benefits, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referral services. Shelby County will continue walk-in visits, no appointments needed.

The following message is based on information the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has as of Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.

ODH has secured additional funding to sustain the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) into November. Based on additional Nutrition Services Administration funds, reimbursement to all local WIC subrecipients will continue throughout November. Thus, WIC operations at the local level; determining eligibility, obtaining anthropometric and hematological measurements, completing necessary paperwork, and providing nutrition and breastfeeding education and support as well as referrals will be able to continue.

● For additional information or guidance, WIC participants can visit their local WIC clinic, their State WIC program’s website, or the WIC shopper app.
