Join me for yoga!

I'm so excited to offer three classes this winter - 2 in-person and 1 virtual.

Level 1 classes are appropriate for those new to yoga or if you're looking to focus on fine-tuning. We spend time focusing on the foundations.

Level I/II classes build on what we learned in Level 1. This class is most appropriate for continuing students and those who feel comfortable with poses like Downward-Facing Dog, Plank and flowing style movement.

Of course, let me know if you have questions. Registration is open at the link above.

Excited to see you on the mat!

I made a thing! 💫

This summer I decided to sign up for an art class at my local community college again. I just made my third stained glass panel this summer and I can't be more thrilled for how it turned out!

Dr. Brené Brown considers creativity essential to wholehearted living. She said, “If we want to make meaning, we need to make art. Cook, write, draw, doodle, paint, scrapbook, take pictures, collage, knit, rebuild an engine, sculpt, dance, decorate, act, sing – it doesn’t matter. As long as we’re creating, we’re cultivating meaning.”

Did you know that stress and trauma live in the body?

Just like our minds hold onto stories, our bodies do, too. The problem with chronic stress or traumatic experiences living in our bodies is that we don’t always have the words or language to express them.

📖 Trauma survivors will often try and create a “cover story” to help give some explanation to what they’re experiencing, but it’s not the full story, because their bodies have so much more to share.

🫀 The racing heart, blood rushing to our muscles, disappearing appetite - they’re all very real physical responses that keep us safe and help us prepare for what we need to do - like run away or fight. Which are great things that our bodies do!

☝🏽 But if we don’t approach trauma holistically, many of us can get stuck in these heightened responses and it gets more and more difficult to naturally relax. Always being “on guard” can have long-term effects on our bodies, leading to chronic pain and illness.

🎉 Here’s the good news, though: we don’t have to accept that it’s inevitable! Because trauma lives in the body, we usually need a body-based approach to begin to heal. Enter: yoga.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Yoga has a number of health benefits, especially in decreasing depression and anxiety and helping people to relieve stress. And trauma-informed yoga brings together brain development, biology, and psychology- the intersectionality of the mind and body.

It can:
→ build your ability to cope
→ bring balance to your nervous system
→ learn to feel safe in your body
→ manage your discomfort
→ expand your capacity for joy & exploration

If you want to learn more, send me a DM or check out our trauma-informed yoga classes we’re offering over at ! We have some exciting things to share with you soon, so make sure to hop on my email list at hannahdaviswellnes.com/hello

Thank you.
