The National Association of Public Health Statistics and Information Systems (NAPHSIS) is a national nonprofit organization established in 1933.

The National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems (NAPHSIS) is the national association of state vital records and public health statistics offices which is based in the Washington, DC area. It serves as a crucial advocate for state vital records and public health statistics offices across the United States. Comprising over 250 public health professionals from each state, the five territories, New York, and the District of Columbia, NAPHSIS provides national advocacy, technical assistance, training, educational programming, and valuable resources to support and promote its membership.

NAPHSIS is sharing a new video that demonstrates what digital birth certificates could look like in a future digital issuance environment. The video follows how certificates can be securely issued by Vital Records, stored in a mobile wallet, and shared using QR-code verification for everyday needs like opening a bank account or boarding a cruise ship.

The video also highlights ongoing pilots, including work on W3C verifiable barcodes, and sets the stage for a deeper look at how digital issuance works in practice.
