The work learned here only matters if it’s carried forward.
Recovery is something women must keep choosing long after they leave our care.

Every few minutes in the U.S., someone dies from drugs or alcohol, deaths that are largely preventable with treatment and support. The cost of addiction isn’t just death. It’s lost custody, broken trust, declining health, legal consequences, and lives that slowly unravel.

At Haven, recovery is built through evidence-based care: therapy, group work, peer support, structure, and accountability. But we’re also clear with our clients, this work does not end when they leave us.

Sustained recovery requires continued engagement: meetings, therapy, community, and daily practices that support stability and growth.

The tools are learned here, but they must be used long after discharge.

Tonight was set to be our first Recovery Yoga, but with current weather and road conditions, we’re postponing for safety.

Stay in, get cozy, and enjoy a quiet evening indoors. We’ll begin next Monday, February 9th, from 6–7:00 PM

We really look forward to starting this together then!

Recovery often asks us to subtract, not add.

Most of us come in full,
full of fear,
full of habits that once helped us cope,
full of ideas about how things should go.

Over time, recovery gently asks us to loosen our grip.
To stop filling every quiet moment.
To let some space exist.
That space can feel scary. Empty even.

But it’s often the first place God can meet us.

Not because we’ve done it right,
but because there’s finally room.

So excited to offer yoga for women in recovery on campus, for our community.

We’re grateful to have a beautiful, peaceful space here at Haven, and to use it for practices that support healing in a gentle, intentional way. This class has been on our hearts for a while, creating room for women in recovery to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and build inner strength in a supportive environment.

This all-levels yoga class is a supportive space for women in recovery to reconnect with their bodies and inner strength. Through mindful movement, breathwork, and moments of relaxation , we focus on healing, self-compassion, and balance, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

No prior yoga experience is needed; all bodies and abilities are welcome. Come as you are and leave feeling grounded, nourished, and empowered.

We’re grateful to continue expanding what recovery can look like on our campus!

Recovery requires discipline.

Especially discipline over where our attention goes.

Looking into another person’s cup isn’t the issue.

The motive is.

Are we checking to see if help is needed
or deciding what their life means about ours?

We are responsible for what’s in our hands.

That’s where contentment is found.

Tending and nurturing our sourdough starter teaches us something essential:
healing and growth don’t happen all at once. They happen through small, consistent acts of care.

Just like the brain, sourdough comes back to life when it’s fed regularly, given warmth, not rushed or punished, and allowed to change over time.

This mirrors recovery:
• We work with what is already inside us
• We don’t force growth
• We trust the process

Recovery teaches us this truth gently and relentlessly:
there is no version of life without effort.

Sobriety doesn’t remove struggle, it gives us the capacity to stay.
To repair instead of abandon.

To show up instead of escape.

To carry both gratitude and discomfort without running.

We stop asking for a life that never hurts
and start building a life that’s worth the work.

What happens here is a return to the Great Reality.

Recovery teaches us how to live with open eyes and an open heart,
to receive life as it comes, not as we demand it to be.

The joy and the grief.
The unanswered questions.
The quiet grace threaded through ordinary days.

We loosen our grip on control
and begin to trust something greater than ourselves.

Meaning is found not by escaping life,
but by showing up for it
and being grateful for all of it.
