She was a loving wife, friend, sister, and daughter. She has been gone more than 50 years and is still missed. It is a tragedy that her murder was unsolved til recently, but this page is a place for remembering the time with her.

Canโ€™t believe youโ€™d be 71 today. We still wonder what you would/could have been like. I bet AMAZING! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

2021 on this day, we learned the name of who stole you away from us in 1971. 2 ladies came in to see me recently and both had your 1st name. One was even in school with you. A sign from you? Thank you. Say hi to the family. Still love and miss you.

My heart aches for anyone who has ever lost a child. On the 3rd (day before Maureen's birthday), mom was quiet, withdrawn, and declined an invite to our city's baseball game. I told my husband and son that I thought it was because it's Maureen's birthday time. On the 4th, when mom got up, the first thing she said was, "It's Maureen's birthday today." Her faith holds her together as she knows that Maureen is up there with her grandpa (and they were very close) and all the other family members that have moved on to that next world. God bless and comfort the parent(s) who have lost a child.

Maureen's mom, "Today, 69 years ago, at 430 in the morning, Maureen was born. We were living at 1108 Douglas and even our landlady, Mrs Doyle, offered to go with us to the hospital. (We always had really nice landladies.) We were supposed to go to Anthon to celebrate the 4th. Instead, we went to the hospital and at 6 lbs and some ounces, Maureen was born. She was a firecracker for sure."
