Coffee and Pregnancy: What You Need to Know ☕🤰

During pregnancy, it's essential to be mindful of your caffeine intake. While you don't have to completely eliminate coffee from your daily routine, moderation is key. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends limiting caffeine consumption to 200 mg per day, which is about one 12-ounce cup of coffee.

Excessive caffeine intake during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm birth, and low birth weight. Keep in mind that caffeine is also present in other sources, such as tea, chocolate, and some medications.

To satisfy your coffee cravings while staying within safe limits, consider these tips:
☕ Opt for decaf or half-caf options.
🧋 Try smaller servings or less frequent consumption.
🫖 Choose lower-caffeine beverages like herbal teas.

In difficult seasons, it’s easy to let doubt creep in and ask discouraging questions. This can feel especially true in pregnancy and motherhood when the weight of responsibility feels overwhelming.

This week, I encourage you to shift your focus. Instead of asking, "Is there any love?"—open your heart to the love God has placed all around you. Feel it in the warmth of the sun, a reminder of His constant embrace. See it in a home-cooked meal, in laughter shared at the dinner table, and in the little moments of grace throughout your day.

If you're expecting, trying to conceive, or have littles ones at home, remember: Love is always around you—you just need eyes to see it. ❣️
