We are excited to announce an addition to our Functional Kids Team! Alex is a therapist that has over 10 years of experience working with the pediatric population and we are thrilled to have him on our team!

Alex received his Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Dakota in 2013. Alex has spent the majority of his career working with the pediatric population, most recently working as an OT and behavior specialist at a primary school in the Twin Cities. Alex has experience working with a variety of neurodevelopmental and physical challenges in both the clinic and school setting. He has received specialized training on the Sequential Oral Sensory feeding program, cognitive and behavior development, and Therapeutic Crisis intervention (trauma informed care). Alex is passionate about advocating for neurodiverse populations and works to ensure all children can engage meaningfully in their daily lives! He is excited to bring his experience and passion to our team!

Spring forward without the chaos 🌼⏰

Daylight Saving Time can be tough on little bodies (and grown-up ones too). Try these gentle transition tips:

✨ Move clocks ahead gradually until you reach the full hour
✨ Use visual schedules to help stay on routine
✨ Keep daily routines as consistent as possible
✨ Limit evening stimulation + add extra movement during the day and complete calming activities at night to help with regulation
✨ Use blackout curtains for better sleep
✨ Most importantly… be patient — adjustment takes time 💛
