Is Your ABN Form About to Expire?
If you haven’t checked the footer of your Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) templates recently, do it today.
The Reality: The current CMS-R-131 form expires on January 31, 2026.
The Risk: Starting February 1st, using the old form = "Invalid Notice."
That means if Medicare denies the claim, you cannot bill the patient. Your practice absorbs the cost. Full stop.
