WORLD CANCER DAY 2026
This annual reminder of World Cancer Day hits painfully close to home this year.
It is 3 weeks since I lost my Dad after his 4 year courageous battle with cancer and my heart aches with so much grief I am missing him so very much.
I am so grateful I have this picture of Dad and my sister, Candace. In true Dad form, he's taping her ankle before a sports practice at East High. I am so glad I have this picture of them.
My sister is a 6 year survivor of breast cancer and is the strongest, most courageous woman I know.
On World Cancer Day I pray for my Sister and my Dad. I know he is at peace and for him, I am grateful.
Dad I will miss you and love you forever.
World Cancer Day is observed worldwide on February 4. The aim is to inform and encourage people on its prevention, early detection, and treatment. This initiative was taken by the Union for International Cancer Control to campaign and advocate for the targets of the World Cancer Declaration, penned in 2008.
