There is a HUGE difference in flavor between a store bought egg and a farm fresh egg. That's not just the aspect where you know the chickens.You know they eat organic, have space to roam about, get cuddles and love, are free from patasites and disease, and free from inhumane treatment.
But the actual taste of a fresh egg is lighter and actually really nice.

Btw I do not personally enjoy eating eggs a lot of the time. I am picky on how they are prepared but fresh eggs are so different in flavor I can eat them almost anyway they come!

Wash eggs when ready to prepare your meal. They stay fresh longer this way. I save our shells, dry them out, the crush the dried egg shells and add it back to their feed for extra calcium.

Eggs are unwashed. You may store unwashed eggs in fridge or at room temperature. But then you must wash before consumption. Washing before storing reduces the shelf life and has safety risks.

Our chickens won't be pasture chickens until we move them to the new property. When free reading or on pasture they engage in fundamental chicken behaviors such as scratching and pecking, finding bugs, controlling insect populations, airrating the grasses, dust bathing, and have space to be alone or together.

Happy chickens yield more eggs and are generally healthier than chickens living in cages.
