The Slippery Rock University Flute Studio is committed to providing learning experiences to meet the current and future needs of today’s student. We recognize the unique power of music to express emotion, to teach, to foster communication, to access memories, to motivate, to initiate movement, and to provide enrichment for the community-at-large. If you are interested in auditioning for the SRU Flute Studio, please see the requirements listed below. Audition Procedures
Anyone desiring to be a flute major or minor at Slippery Rock University must be accepted by the music department audition committee. Music applicants must apply to and be accepted by the University before auditioning for acceptance into the Department of Music (i.e., a student must be admitted to the University first before he or she can be accepted into the Music program). Audition dates are scheduled in both fall and spring semesters, and may be arranged on one of these dates by filling out and submitting the online audition form. The Audition Process

, a music therapy major at SRU, said the ensemble gives high schoolers, college students and alumni the opportunity to learn and perform.

“The Honors Flute Ensemble has been such an amazing experience to be a part of the past three years as a high schooler and an SRU Flute Studio member,” Peltzman said. “It is so incrodible to have the opportunity to participate in interactive master classes, watch live performances of various guest artists, work with known composers and to rehearse under the direction of the amazing Dr. Eisenreich.”

We had the incredible opportunity to be featured on WQED, where one of our outstanding students Ben Bellomo was interviewed and performed beautifully on air. Our Honors Flute Ensemble was also highlighted, showcasing the artistry, collaboration, and vibrant sound of our studio and local flutists from in and around the area!

We were especially thrilled to feature music by local composer Greg Lutz, celebrating the creativity happening right here in our region.
