This quote has been weighing on me the last few weeks. I took some, much needed, time away from social media. I needed time to reevaluate my life, my message, my mission, my purpose, and my sanity 🤪

I still don’t have a perfect view of what, or who, I want to be on this platform but I know who I don’t want to be. I spent way too much time thinking I needed some perfectly curated layout, using the perfect filters, and taking pictures on the random days I decided to do my hair & makeup (which were usually just for pictures). I’m NOT that person and probably never will be.

I’ve been seeing way too many posts of “Instagram vs reality” pictures followed by captions that state things like “just because someone’s pictures look perfect, doesn’t mean their life is, so don’t compare.” BUT if that’s all we’re seeing, all damn day long, how can we expect people to not compare? Why not just post your real life all the time?

I’m a real human - I wear yoga pants 98% of the time, love hoodies and T-shirts, only put on makeup for special occasions, & my house is clean but messy. So that’s who you are getting from now on!

My message will be just as pure as my pictures and I’m excited to share - hope your excited to see 💕

Anxiety and depression have some textbook markers that are used to formally diagnose but the overall symptoms vary based on the individual. This has often led me to feel like I’m wrong or crazy, because my anxiety/depression doesn’t look the same as it does in movies 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m happy to share how I personally see it manifest in myself (although others might see it differently in me).

•getting heart palpitations and shortness of breath when someone asks me to hang out (generally if it’s not in a bar with booze and other people). One on one interactions, even with people I love and care about, make me extremely nervous

•When I get so anxious about things, I tend to (subconsciously) make myself sick. It manifests in many ailments, is usually out of my control, and I don’t know how to stop it.

•I hide from big, traumatic life events - this stems from childhood. I grew so good at the “if I ignore it, it won’t be real” game that it has trickled into my adulthood

•Not showering for a few days

•Incessant use of my cell phone

•Crying for no reason

•Not going outside for days at a time (except to pick up my daughter)

•Putting off doctors appts

•Gaining a lot of unexplained weight

•Being triggered by small things like helping my daughter to wash her hands (she’s actually really good at it but something about standing in front of the sink with her makes my heart beat fast and my stomach churn)

•Not responding to phone calls, messages, or emails

•Lashing out on people who, usually, don’t deserve it

•Literally not being able to talk (just ask my sister lol) for a few minutes, no matter how much you try to get my attention

Actually - something many people don’t know is that I went a little while of my childhood without really talking to anyone and just awkwardly smiling.

There’s definitely more.

Who wants to feel “runderful” and run their first or fastest 5k with me? 🙋🏼‍♀️⠀

You guys this new program I will be starting next Monday is INCREDIBLE! It is unlike any other you’ve done that implements running & strength, while focusing on injury prevention. ⠀

Seriously, it’s the BEST way to get or stay in shape during a season that typically causes weight gain. And if you live in the reinstate area with things closing AGAIN for who know how long trust me you are going to need this in your life! 🤷🏼‍♀️⠀

At the end we will run/walk/jog a 5K either together or virtually in honour of my mother. This will lead directly into the weekend of the BT5k that I host each year for brain cancer research. ❤️ Let me know if you have questions or want in. I promise I’ll help you cross that finish line feeling stronger and fitter than ever! ⁣

If you knew you’d be a better mom, partner, friend, PERSON would you find 30 minutes a day?

If you KNEW you’d have an improved mood, more energy, and less cravings would you commit to a program?

Your nutriton and fitness affects everything. It’s so much more than your size or reflection. It’s about the person you’ll be when you feel your best.

You owe it to yourself. You owe it to your family. You owe it your friends and coworkers.

Stop convincing yourself that making that time is selfish. Not making that time is selfish.

💫 Beginnings 💫

“A master is a beginner who kept beginning.”

This quote resonates with me so much. I often have people message me telling me they want to make a change but don’t know where to start.

Some even think I have mastered the art of health + fitness, but I constantly consider myself a beginner and a learner. Everyday I learn more and more about what my body and mind need. I also learn what doesn’t work (because everything is not for everyone). I’m just grateful I have an arsenal of options - options for how to fuel my body and for ways to move it.

Only when you continue to practice the techniques you learn, will you see progress.

Today I challenge you to continue to learn and grow. To always be the student and learning the best ways to be the best you 💕

This mug is everything 🤜🏼☕️🤣

As parents, we so often second guess ourselves (because, whether you want to believe it or not, dads do too).

Speaking from experience, I question if I’m doing it right. I also find that I compare myself to other parents. My daughter doesn’t have 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 toys. We don’t have 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 house. We don’t do 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 activities.

So I start to think - will she thrive? Does she feel like she’s missing out? Is she getting enough stimulation? Is her vocabulary growing? It’s makes my anxiety go to a whole new level.

And then she talks.... I listen her tell me stories with such vivid detail. I can watch her using her brain to think about how she is going to solve a problem. I hear her being polite, showing affection, and being kind (of course she has her normal toddler moments too haha).

Just remember, the fact that you are questioning if you are doing the right thing means that you ARE doing the right thing. None of us are perfect but we are the perfect fit for our children and they fu***ng love us.

I recently started a 21 day meditation program that comes free with my all access workout package. I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT decrease in my anxiety. I have noticed that I am happier when playing with C. I have also noticed that I am not getting upset about small things, not scrolling IG seeking those “perfect” moms to compare myself to, and have fully enjoyed our home & the things in it 🏡

Health + wellness isn’t just from the neck down. Spending time to strengthen your organs and muscles above the neck should be a top priority. I’d love to help support you - comment below if you are ready to work on your whole body wellness 💕
