Health Equity International provides essential health and support services for people in need. Boniface Hospital, the largest healthcare provider in southern Haiti. We built this special place from the ground up, together with the community we serve. We designed every service to meet and evolve with our patients’ needs. Our doors are always open, and no one is ever turned away because they cannot pay. Here, medical professionals from across the country come to learn and expand their skills. And our community health programs help people get care without having to travel far. Health Equity International believes good health helps everyone reach their full potential. Through quality, dignified, compassionate services, we are building a healthier world.

Our labor and delivery room has been extremely full over the past few months. Although it can be difficult to manage such a high volume of patients, each mother and child deserves our very best. When you see these little eyes look at you in wonder, it makes every challenge worth it.

Wound care is an extremely important part of recovery. Keeping a wound clean helps prevent infection, accelerate healing, reduce pain and scarring, and prevent dangerous complications. Careful monitoring is also key to ensuring the wound is closing properly and catching any abnormalities before they become a larger problem.

We've been working with our partners at 121 Consulting to repair some of the batteries that power our solar grid. Maintaining this system isn't easy, and getting replacement parts to Haiti is extremely difficult these days. But, with persistence and partnership, we always get the job done!

Our warehouse and supply chain teams make organization look easy. But don't be fooled—it takes a *lot* of work to keep our supplies orderly and secure. From tracking shipments as they cross the ocean to keeping tabs on expiration dates, the smallest details matter when dealing with life-saving medications and supplies.

Five years ago, we cared for approximately 20 babies per day in our NICU. Today, we see an average of 35—and counting. While many factors contribute to NICU admission rates, Haiti's ongoing crises have disproportionately impacted pregnant women and contributed to higher rates of pregnancy complications. No matter how complex the case, we work hard to help every mother and baby who comes through our doors.

Did you know that not all vaccines are injected? Some essential childhood vaccines, such as the rotavirus vaccine, are administered orally in small drops. This delivery method more easily targets the digestive and respiratory tracts and helps the rotavirus vaccine protect children against severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration.
