Honor Your Boundaries as an Act of Love...

How often do we sacrifice our own needs to meet others’ wants, only to end up feeling depleted, unfulfilled, and disconnected from ourselves? When we give up our boundaries just to “be nice,” are we truly being kind to ourselves?

Our boundaries reflect our values; they hold the container for our well-being and growth. Boundaries aren’t just about saying “no” to others or what doesn’t align—they’re about saying “yes” to what does.

Paul Chek said it best: “Your ‘yes’ has no value until you learn to say ‘no.’”

Boundaries are sacred. When we honor our own needs, we create a strong, stable foundation that allows us to show up fully and authentically for others.

When we let go of the need to please, we stop expecting others to fulfill us and we take responsibility for our own peace.

Protect your peace. Honor your energy. Make room for what truly nourishes you.

Try This:
- Notice what drains your energy and pulls you away from your center.
- Clarify your needs and values, and make them a priority.
- Practice respectfully expressing “no” when something doesn’t align with you.

TREAT THE SYSTEM, NOT THE SYMPTOM.

•Are you having trouble resolving your pain or illness?

•By treating the symptoms, do you feel like you’re chasing your own tail?

•Do the prescribed treatments for these symptoms seem to cause more harm than good?

•Have you tried addressing the sources of your illness rather than focusing solely on the symptoms?

I used to try and fix symptoms such as gut distress, acne, headaches, fatigue, etc., with supplements and quick fixes. This rarely helped because the symptoms I was experiencing were an effect of poor lifestyle habits. Once I cut out the negative influences, like poor diet, lack of sleep, or hydration, these symptoms resolved naturally.

We are a complex system of systems, and symptoms are often the result of deeper issues.

By treating only the symptoms of illness, we fall short, but when we address the whole person, we can create true health.

Most mainstream approaches focus on suppressing symptoms, which in turn cause other symptoms to arise, while missing the real issue.

When we balance the whole system, symptoms clear up naturally. We create an environment of health and vitality, where symptoms of illness cannot exist.

True health comes from addressing the source of the illness and taking care of our fundamental needs.

Why I choose to use the term “Holistic”… 🌸

The term “holistic” is thrown around by so many these days, but often it’s not used in its true sense. It has become a diluted and overused term. Many use it to describe alternative therapeutic methods or anything outside the mainstream approach. While these methods can be useful, they often don’t address the whole person or get to the source of pain or illness.

A truly Holistic approach considers the Body, Mind, and Spirit. It looks at symptoms as an expression of a deeper issue.

Through a Holistic approach, we address the WHOLE person and develop a strategy that brings them into natural balance, allowing their innate healing abilities to restore and sustain their health, vitality, and well-being.

Without looking at the whole of a person, we risk missing what’s driving a condition and may only find temporary relief or even influence other forms of symptom and compensation.

By using a Holistic approach, I look at the whole picture by assessing a person’s lifestyle, nutrition, stress, biomechanics, and mental/emotional state. I then identify patterns presented through the interconnected aspects of the individual and trace symptoms to their source. I then tailor a holistic approach to bring the Body, Mind, and Spirit into a harmonious expression of well-being.

The CHEK Totem Pole is a holistic model developed by Paul Chek to help understand the body’s survival hierarchy. It’s based on the idea that different systems in the body contribute to overall health, but certain systems take priority when it comes to survival. When dysfunction occurs at higher levels of the Totem Pole, it cascades downward, affecting other parts of the body. By addressing imbalances at these levels, we can create more sustainable health.

1. Psyche (Emotions & Thoughts): Our mental and emotional well-being holds the most influence. Stress or trauma can show up as physical imbalances, influencing posture, breathing, and even organ function.

2. Breathing: Improper breathing patterns, often triggered by stress or poor posture, can have a ripple effect on the entire body.

3. Mastication (Jaw Function): Misalignments in the jaw lead to headaches, tension, and digestive issues.

4. Vision & Balance: Poor eyesight or balance creates compensation, causing musculoskeletal issues.

5. Hearing: Auditory imbalances can cause postural problems.

6. Upper Cervical Spine: Misalignments affect the entire body, including breathing and movement.

7. Organs & Glands: Stress impacts organ function, leading to fatigue.

8. Emotions: Emotions are deeply connected with the psyche and can override the whole system.

9. Sacrum: The “sacred” bone connecting the upper and lower body is the foundation for movement.

10. Limbs & Joints: Issues here often reflect dysfunctions above.
