Caring Services LLC hosted another terrific CDP class today on the King David campus in Beachwood, Ohio. Area senior care professionals joined together for an all day class that is the prelude to be becoming a certified dementia practitioner (CDP). Special thanks to Cora Young, Emma Raulinaitis and the entire team at King David for making us all feel so very welcome.

The class is ideal for employees of the nursing, life enrichment, rehab, social service and administration departments. Those who complete the class receive a certificate that then allows them to complete the application process with the NCCDP.

Our instructor today was Terry Hornikel, co-owner of Caring Services LLC. What an engaging group of professionals we had today.

What a great way to celebrate a beautiful spring day yesterday at Carrington Court in Solon Ohio. This beautiful independent living campus invited us back to join with our partners at Home Instead for another program. This is such an engaging group every time we visit. Yesterday's event included starting a small herb garden that can be kept inside or on balconies of these beautiful apartments for those over 55.

We always appreciate the opportunity to work with Valerie Murray and the team at Home Instead. We got to meet their new community liaison Jason Argie. He will most certainly be a welcome addition to their team. Special thanks to April McHenry, the property manager at Gross Management at Carrington Court. Not only does she welcome us, she's hands-on and always provides wonderful refreshments for all.

Our participants yesterday all agreed that creating their herb garden was a great way to say goodbye to winter.

For the second time this month, Caring Services LLC has hosted the Classic Film program at the Solon Senior Center. Today's film was "The Manchurian Candidate". Many parallels to today's world.

Last week, we watched "Madame X".

Check out the latest issues of the Solon Senior Center Sentinel to learn about upcoming films.

We also got to work with one of these Salon High School seniors on her research project. She's looking at the impact of music on memory. Uva asked the participants to complete memory exercises while she played some Tibetan music that impacts brain waves. Very interesting and quite the project for a high school student to take on.

Our next class for those who wish to become certified dementia practitioners will be held on 4/29 on the King David campus in Beachwood, OH. Details attached.

The CDP certification is an excellent career advancement tool for anyone in nursing, social work, STNA, activity or life enrichment profession and more. Last year, 20% of our students represented non-healthcare businesses that interact with individuals dealing with memory loss. Funeral homes, real estate firms, volunteer organizations, etc.

We had another great turnout for the bingo program at Parker Place Independent living in Mentor on Monday. The residents there love nickel bingo. So we match the pot for every game. Can you guess how much $50 worth of nickels weighs?
It is a fast paced and fun filled hour.

Playing games like bingo help us all use our executive brain functions and are great cognitive exercise.

Thank you to all our bingo friends at Parker Place who joined the games, to activity director Ashley and the managers for extending the invitation to Caring Services to host the game.

Attendied the 5th Annual Advisory board Meeting of DSAS- the Cuyahoga County Department of Senior and Adult Services.

Listened to host Robin Svoboda lead the presentations from various providers ofsenior services in the area. NEO offers so many services for older adults. The challenge is learning about all the services and making the connections to determine eligibility and accessibility.
