Thank you for your business and support through the years. I wanted to inform you of our policies and procedures on preventing the transmission of diseases.
Sick Policy
If you are ill please call and talk to me before your appointment.
It is NEVER okay to receive a massage while you have a fever.
If you have been around someone who has an infectious decease please call me before your appointment. (This includes possible exposure from recent traveling)
This style of massage will not help you feel better if you are sick. Chances are a massage of this modality, can make your illness stick around longer while sick. Your body is trying to repair from your illness it is very taxing to then ask it to repair from a massage.
My son has asthma and even the common cold can get very serious for him, so please call if you suspect your are ill or have been exposed to illness and we can get you rescheduled.
If I am ill I will always call you and inform you of my symptoms and when we can reschedule your appointment. If you show up sick I will ask you to reschedule and wish you quick healing.
Procedures
All linens are changed between each client. They are washed with Tide, bleach, and hot water before being used again.
Table, door k***s, and surfaces are cleaned, using hospital grade solvent and Clorox wipes, between each session. This is the number one reason I don't currently use a table warmer because there is no way to sterilize it between sessions.
Therapist washes up to her elbows with antibacterial soap between each client. If therapist coughs (I have allergies, it happens) during session she always does so in the nap of her smock and never her hand or elbow.
Each session has lotion measured out into individual cups, which are promptly thrown away before therapist washes up, so germs cannot be transmitted. (I know it isn't great for the environment, sorry!)
Over half of my clientele are above the age 60. Some clients are dealing with auto immune issues. These have been my policies and procedures for over 18 years. I hope to be able to serve you all for a few more years to come. Blue Dragonfly Therapeutic Massage will remain open for the time being.
