September is Childhood Obesity Awareness Month 💙 — and it’s the perfect reminder that small changes at home can set kids up for a lifetime of health.
🌙 Sleep first. Kids need more rest than we think, and when they don’t get it, they often snack more and move less. Try building in earlier bedtimes, even on weekends.
📱 Cut the screens. Too much screen time affects sleep, grades, mood, and weight. Even replacing one show with 20 minutes of outdoor play makes a difference.
🥦 Focus on fuel. Fresh fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains help kids grow strong and stay energized. And water? It beats sugary drinks every time.
🏃♀️ Make movement fun. Kids 6+ need about 60 minutes of activity a day — but it doesn’t have to be formal exercise. Dancing in the living room, biking, or a family walk all count.
At Yuli MD Pediatrics in South Pasadena, we’re here to partner with you through every stage of your child’s growth. Wellness visits are the perfect time to check in on healthy habits, answer questions, and make sure your child is thriving.
✨ Book your free meet & greet today and let’s build healthy routines that last a lifetime.
