Dear Parents and Patients,

We at River Hills Pediatrics want to give you an update regarding medical care in our offices during this pandemic. We are commited to following the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center and KY state requirements. We are updating our office practices as new developments occur.

We are continuing to schedule well child checks, ESPECIALLY for children that need vaccines. The AAP has recommended following the traditional well child visit schedule and NOT delaying vaccinations during this time. We are scheduling well child checks and healthy consults from 8:30-10AM and 1-3PM. We are scheduling sick visits from 10-12 and after 3PM to avoid unnecessary exposure to sickness. We are using specific rooms for well visits vs sick visits. We are working diligently to disinfect patient rooms and common spaces between each visit. We are asking that only healthy parents or family members accompany a patient to our office for any type of visit.

We want to make you aware that patients who think they may have Covid 19 or have been exposed are being directed to testing elsewhere and are not being seen in the office. Any patient that has a fever/URI symptoms is being given a mask at the front desk.

We also want to let you know that we have started to do Telemedicine visits for as many visits as possible to avoid unnecessary trips to the office. Some examples include: certain sick or injury visits, mental health follow ups, ADHD follow ups (at physician discretion). It is very simple to use telehealth; these visits can be done from a laptop, Ipad, or smart phone.

Our employees are wearing masks and have been instructed on how to take their temperature each day prior to arriving at work. And we do recommend that ALL patients and parents wear a cloth mask during a trip to our office. A thin blanket or nursing cover over a baby’s car seat should suffice. We are trying to reduce time spent in the waiting room by bringing patients back to an exam room as quickly as possible. If there is something you need to discuss in depth at the front desk, please feel free to call ahead to complete this over the phone.
