Today I am starting a round of Whole30 with one of my clients. This is meal #1. Chorizo, kale, red pepper, butternut squash hash with salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder and Italian seasoning, with two eggs and half an avocado. My clients have great success with Whole30 and I love to do it with them! I'm hoping to get some relief from hot flashes and night sweats as I am going through menopause and to drop a few pounds as I reset my body. Anyone else want to do it with us?

I am currently day 20 into a quick round of Whole30 before my daughter's wedding and I thought I would share what I've been eating. I try to eat foods that don't have an ingredient label because they ARE ingredients.
Food can be medicine or the slowest form of poison, it's literally up to you to decide what to put on your fork.
Choose REAL foods over "frankenfoods" because food changes EVERYTHING.

As we shake off the sluggishness of winter, many of us feel an urge to spring clean our bodies with a detox or cleanse.

Detoxification functions are performed by our organs and tissues including our intestinal flora. Symptoms of the need for a detox can include mood and sleep imbalances, anxiety, rashes, lack of energy and libido and inflammation.

You can detox simply by adding cruciferous veggies like cabbage, broccoli and kale to your diet. They contain enzymes to help toxins clear the body. Berries, green tea and turmeric have anti-inflammatory properties and drinking enough water supports the lymphatic system and replenishes fluids lost in sweat.

Fasting and intermittent fasting are great tools for deeper detoxification. Digestion takes energy, so eating less often allows time for digestion to stop so that detox can intensify. I personally love a 3 to 5 day juice cleanse and also intermittent fasting at the 16:8 ratio.
