I have a confession to make, and not because there’s truly anything to fess up to, but because I have a truth that feels worthy of sharing.

A few months ago, I stepped out of the space of training clients in a gym. It took me almost a full year to come to this decision, & for almost a full year of being uncomfortable, I felt like the life I was living no longer fit for me anymore.

Full disclosure: Over the last 3 months, I have learned so much about myself and the people that I’ve held close to me for the last few years.

I am grateful for the ability to look inward for growth ✨& here’s what I’ve come to know:

growth is not linear, so forward momentum doesn’t always lead us to where we want to go. Sometimes you have to move sideways, or backwards, or take on some twists and turns but also it’s okay to just be still and know if the direction you’re heading is really leading you somewhere you want to be.

I’ve decided that I will not be stepping back into a physical location to train clients just yet, BUT I will continue to do what I love and what I feel I’m called to do: supporting, uplifting, educating and motivating others towards achieving a healthier and stronger version of themselves. 🤍

Give yourself permission to take what you need & leave what you don’t 🌟

This is something that I am personally practicing in ALL areas of my life, but when it comes to fitness and your wellness routine ☝🏼 this is the prime spot to apply.

Let go of the high expections
Let go of the all or nothing mentality
Let go of sticking to the plan for the sake of sticking the plan.

🗣️GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION:

Permission to go slow
Permission to hit the ground running
Permission to hit the RESET button when you need to
Permission to say no to the things that do not align with you and to say YES to the things that feel good for you

Unpopular opinion from a fitness coach: you don’t have to do everything 100% right, 100% of the time to make progress… 💁🏼‍♀️

Making the effort, consistently and continuously will be enough.

Here’s the thing: the longer you stick with with your health and fitness journey and the more roadblocks you run into, the more you learn and the more you overcome… your effort begins to change overtime.

It changes because as you live out this journey and immerse yourself into your program or new lifestyle, you know better about what works for you. You know better when it comes to trusting your coach and trusting your program. ✨You just know better. ✨ Then you start to do better, maybe even without noticing.

So always just do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. 🌟

One big BUT here ⏭ in order to know better and do better, you have to START. Make the effort & keep going.

You are never too old, too inexperienced, or in too deep to set another goal or to dream a new dream. ✨✨

Over the last 2 years, movement has looked a little different for me. First, keeping it light to better deal with mental health & overcoming increased stress levels, then settling into a yoga practice, and finally into focusing on a more precise goal of fitting into my wedding dress… 👰🏼‍♀️ I haven’t really picked up anything heavy in well over a year 🙊

These days my goal has changed once again: building strength 💪🏼 and building a more consistent training regimen. It might sound silly coming from a fitness coach.. but I’ve been longing for a better relationship with the gym for a while now, and it’s time to start putting energy into that 🙌🏼

If you have ever struggled with motivation, consistency, or have just felt *blah* in the gym.. you are not alone!! Just adapt, find something new to stay active, and come back when you are ready. Reach out for support when you need it! Whatever you do, don’t quit 🙅🏼‍♀️

I am working on something new, and I need YOUR help to get it just right! First let me explain:

I receive all sorts of nutrition-related questions every single day, but the most common are:

1️⃣What are some healthy meals I can cook that actually taste good?

2️⃣How can I plan my meals to make it easier to eat healthy?

3️⃣How do I grocery shop so that I'm buying just the right amount so I don't waste all the produce I bought every week?

Here’s the thing… There is no magic pill.
As a fitness + nutrition coach, the only pill 💊 I swallow each day is showing up consistently to learn as I go and using failure as fuel to move forward. While it’s not a flashy “quick fix” claim, I’ve learned that nothing is as effective as a dose of self-accountability! 💁🏼‍♀️
I’m curious… Do you agree or disagree?
For ANY goal, whether it is health & fitness related not, consistent action is required for growth. Doing the small things every single day may not feel significant or effective in the moment, but after showing up consistently for a week or a month or 6 months, you’ll be able to look back and realize how far you’ve come. 💕
Before you know it, those small tasks that seemed super daunting are now tiny habits that you no longer think about anymore because they just come ✨ naturally.
So keep showing up. Keep going to the gym, even though you might not be 100% confident in that space. Keep cooking your meals, even though you’d rather eat out. Keep it simple, keep it effective, and keep the consistency. 🌟 You got this!

If time travel were possible & you had the opportunity to sit down with yourself one year ago, what would you say?
Let’s be real, this list of advice could easily be a mile long, but if I had to narrow it down to three things, this is what I would say:
1. You’re going to be okay - you have to go through the tough stuff to appreciate your progress.

2. Keep going - don’t let anyone else define what success is for YOU.

3. Pay attention to things that are happening around you and remember you are in control of the choices you make.
In a way, I feel like this is also a list to my future self reminding me that it’s up to me to hit the ground running! Growth & progress only happen when we take responsibility for our choices, and take ACTION to get the outcomes we want. What’s one thing you wish you could tell yourself a year ago? Share below!
