If you’re lying on the floor thinking, “We’ve done back play… again,” you’re not alone 🙃

Been there. As a mom and a pediatric PT, I promise, it doesn’t have to feel this repetitive.

Babies spend so much of their day on their backs already (sleep, car seats, swings). Playtime is your chance to mix it up, without needing fancy toys or a full routine.

✨One of my favorite low-effort, high-impact swaps? Sidelying.

It gives your baby a new view of the world, helps them find their hands, gently works their core and neck, and takes pressure off the back of their head. And honestly? It often feels way more doable than tummy time in those early days.

Quick setup (you can do start today):
✔ Baby on their side
✔ Small towel behind their back
✔ Switch sides often
✔ 3–5 minutes at a time

If tummy time feels like a battle right now, sidelying is a powerful place to start. Save this for later & send it to a parent who’s tired of back play too🤍

At just 4 months old, her family received a life-changing diagnosis: Spina Bifida.

They were told it was rare and that she could be permanently paralyzed.

What followed were surgeries, therapies, and a lot of uncertainty. But over time, she began to gain motion in her legs. With intentional therapy, AFOs, and the right support, strength started to build where they were once told it wouldn’t.

Stories like hers are why families choose KinActive Kids, your partner in pediatric physical therapy and family chiropractic.

By combining function-focused PT, specialized chiropractic care, educational resources, and a space where families feel SEEN, we’re changing the way the world cares for its families.

We’d love to show you how🩵

Five years ago, KinActive started with a simple but bold belief:

Be genuine, even when it ruffles feathers.

Over the years, the mission hasn’t changed…but it has expanded.

We’ve learned that changing outcomes for kids means supporting the entire ecosystem around them:
✨ the child who’s more than a diagnosis
✨ the parent who needs reassurance as much as answers
✨ the clinician who wants to do better but was never taught how

We’ve learned that real growth doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from building something strong enough to last.

That education multiplies impact.
That purposeful play changes brain development.
That hope can exist even when the prognosis says otherwise.

And we’ve learned that doing things differently will always be questioned—until it isn’t.

Here’s to 5 years of learning, refining, and proving that there is another way to serve kids and families.
And we’re just getting started💛

7 Kamps later, and she still remembers exactly how it felt before the first one.

The uncertainty.
The fear of making the “wrong” choice.
The hope mixed with what if this doesn’t work?

We asked her why she keeps coming back, what she’s seen change in her child, what surprised her along the way, and how it feels now compared to that very first Kamp.

Her answers are honest and they come from lived experience.

If you’re a parent standing where she once stood, wondering if you should take the leap, this story is for you.

Sometimes faith looks like signing up for the first Kamp.
And sometimes it looks like coming back again…and again… because you finally see what’s possible.

Being both a pediatric PT and a mom who had a happy sitter who took her time, it gives you a very specific personality 😅

As a parent, when your child finally hits a milestone…
👏🏼Sits? Standing ovation.
🤳Crawls? Video sent to everyone you’ve ever met.
👣Walks? You’re crying, laughing, and immediately searching for shoes.

You don’t care that “other kids did it earlier.” You care that your kid did it. By themselves. Without you holding, spotting, bribing, or coaching like an Olympic trainer. It’s equal parts “I knew you could do it” and “What are we going to do now?”

Let me hear from the moms who get it in the comments🤣

“How do I know if my baby’s torticollis is really gone?”

Great question… and honestly, the signs that it isn’t fully resolved are usually easier for parents to spot at home than you’d think.

It’s actually pretty common for babies to finish PT or be told they’re “all good,” yet still have lingering asymmetry or tightness that shows up in subtle ways during daily movement. And because torticollis affects more than just the neck, those leftover imbalances can impact the whole body, things like weight bearing through the arms, transitioning in and out of positions, early crawling skills, stair readiness later on, and even balance.

If you’re noticing little red flags throughout the day, it may be your baby’s way of saying that the underlying tightness isn’t fully resolved yet. Swipe through to learn the most common at-home signs of lingering torticollis.
And remember, if something feels “off,” trust your gut.

You know your little one best, and it’s always okay to ask for a second look💛
