One of my favorite Christmas holiday decoration combinations: apple green and fuchsia. By mixing textures of velvet, evergreens, and different berries a vibrant winter scene emerged that I could have lived in all year! Many thanks to Laura Visioni for capturing these moments.

Winter Soltice is on the 21st and then our days get longer so I’m celebrating with outdoor decorations. A few years ago, I enjoyed winter by making ice orbs and they were beautiful to see. But living in Virginia wasn’t cold enough to freeze them overnight and my freezer was full of water balloons which then had to be drilled after frozen for candlelight. My husband and I had fun experimenting with this winter project but it’s not practical to continue since we have food in our freezer. When I found these battery operated orbs, I couldn’t wait to try them. They are different sizes and on a timer and I love them! Placing them on my picnic table at various heights with fresh greenery and holly garland looks festive during the day and magical at night. Getting snow is the cherry on top! Our porch is ready for cold weather with faux fur blankets and a fresh wreath around a candle. More simple trees with lights only are placed around the perimeter. How long will I enjoy these lights? All winter because they make me happy on the porch. Our patio chairs have red berry wreaths on the back and fresh greenery wreaths on the side tables. The inner circle is a perfect spot for a candle or maybe I’ll use an ice orb there too eventually! Have fun with your outdoor spaces and cuddle up! Happy Winter Solstice on Dec. 21st!

The dining room is following the rest of the house with the theme of garden statuary as a feature this year. Red, white and gold chargers are mixed with green Bordallo Pinheiro plates to further enhance the garden feel. Gold stars are hanging from the light fixture and linen napkins are white with blue edging. Those same colors are echoed on the Christmas tree as well as on the velvet chain in the kitchen. Live greenery is on the table with twisted red taper candles. I’ve actually enjoyed the red this year because it hasn’t been too heavy and I would repeat this same theme again in the future! However - not next year - I already have a new theme planned! Enjoy the season, everybody!

Using a palette of gold and red keeps a holiday feel warm and bright for me this year! My mantle is draped all the way around with faux greenery of fir and cedar. A garden statue is on top and I’ve given it a wreath of luminescent leaves that draped around. Lights were mixed in and they are on a dimmer. I’ve surrounded the room with slim evergreen trees that have lights. They make me happy and I will leave them up all winter! The Christmas tree is decorated with red, blue, disco ball ornaments, family ornaments, and long hanging crystals which I think gives a structured and unique look to a tree. The star on top has become tradition for us and is special to my husband and me. Whether you decorate one tree or many, enjoy the process and if it becomes too much - it’s time to stop. There were many things I didn’t do this year and I’m perfectly happy without them. It’s all about feeling good in your home and having your friends and family over to also enjoy your home.

Cozy up your kitchen with memories! This year, I've added fresh greenery, red ribbons, and holly berries to create a warm atmosphere. The velvet chain on my hood is a nostalgic touch that brings a smile to my face. Don’t worry - it can be easily removed when cooking. Whether hosting a big bash or intimate gathering, make memories with loved ones and don't forget the punch bowl - it's party time! Share your own holiday kitchen traditions!

I began my 2025 with yellow and it has warmed throughout the year to the now holiday gold. The breakfast room has a relaxed garden feel and the tablescape never wanders too far from that goal. I’ve used garden head containers and statuary inside in my holiday decor this year and I’m liking the classicism they lend in my otherwise casual home. My mother’s water glasses are new to the table and her silver punch bowl is being used for every entertaining event I host this year but everything else is being used new ways. The Lennox Winter Greetings is layered with green trimmed chargers. Brown linen napkins with red trim are held by gold napkin rings. Twisted candles in a rosy tone complimented this table better than red plus I’m using red candles elsewhere and it seemed too heavy to use them everywhere. Enjoy your holiday decorating and mix things up to give yourself a new look if you want!

The wait is finally over - Pantone has unveiled the 2026 Color of the Year! I usually have a good idea what it'll be, but this one caught me off guard. While I was expecting a bold, cool-toned shade, 'Cloud Dancer' took the crown. Believe it or not, white has never held the top spot before, but this isn't just any white - it's a thoughtful choice that represents serenity. Get ready to see this color dominate runways and home decor in fresh, exciting ways throughout 2026. It's going to be fascinating to watch!

Last night's strong winds left behind a treasure trove of branches on my morning walk. I carried them back and now they're gracing my home in vases and on the picnic table. They are the perfect fall addition to my Thanksgiving decor.
