Went to see The Color Purple yesterday in an empty theatre with my mom. It was healing, as I learned my mom’s childhood home got electricity when she was 5 (she remembered the lamps used in the film) and thought of my dad’s mom who picked cotton when she first came to Texas. Any God that exists exist IN our ancestors (old and new). I come from good genes♥️
