Healing Art Studios

Healing Art Studios The Healing Arts Method provides healing through the arts for survivors of trauma and at-risk youth. (Formerly called Rescue Arts, 2006-2018)

Founded by Rebecca Shults, Healing Art Studios develops safe spaces for individuals to experience how the arts facilitate healing and growth in community. Healing Art Studios is an intentional community of creatives intent on healing and community growth. Our approach is person-centered (Natalie Rogers), collaborative, and utilizes all creative arts forms. We value the safe space, where a group of individuals can feel free to express, process and to grow in healthy relationship with self and others. We welcome all artists, educators, therapists, and those in community development. Join with us to find ways that we can utilize creativity and expression for healing and growth! We have bases in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and the USA, but we connect online and in many places across the globe. Contact us to find out about our next collaborative workshop!

Over the holidays and while families are under one roof, let’s take a few minutes to create something with our children. Do this in an intentionally non-pressured, relaxed way, and you’ll find yourself noticing changes in each of you.

Rebecca has used the arts with moms and their children (creating together) in high stress situations for many years, and the collaboration expression can become a starting point for healing conversations.

According to a post on November 21st, Children’s rhythm skills are closely tied to how they learn to read. Research shows that preschoolers who can clap or tap in time with a beat often score higher on early language and pre-reading measures.

Kids with stronger rhythm skills have sharper neural responses to speech sounds, which helps them break words into syllables and sounds.

Rhythm games and musical play may give children’s brains a boost that helps reading come more naturally.

In these photos is teaching percussion to develop rhythm within a young drumming student and teaching the cups game to a group of at-risk youth.

If you love music and rhythm, there's a reason that it's good for you! Keep bringing rhythm into the world around you!
