All month long our athletes have been working on progression drills to master the complex components of the power clean!
⭐️ deadlift
⭐️ high pull
⭐️ elbows through
⭐️ dropping under the bar
⭐️ standing up to finish the rep

Motor planning this complex lift is hard work! But with all the patience, persistence, grit, and hard work, our athletes are absolutely crushin’ it!! I could not ask for a greater group of athletes!! Proud coach over here!!

Meet Nick – Our January Athlete SPOT-light of the month!

Nick is one of our newest athletes, joining our Saturday Class crew since December of last year. Despite his short time with us, he has made TREMENDOUS gains and is already so loved by our AF community!

All month long we’ve been working on power clean progressions aka breaking down this very complicated lift into small, more manageable pieces. In CrossFit lingo, our athletes worked on dropping under the bar shooting elbows through quickly, from their triple extension starting stance. As Jill says, “chicken wing flip and dip!” However you want to describe it, our athletes our living proof that with the right scaffolding and plenty of practice time, anyone can learn these complex and high level skills! Awesome job athletes! I could not be more proud!

What was the highlight of our day? Well let me tell you how our athletes:

⭐️ crushed over head squats
⭐️ worked their brain with alternating Superman’s
⭐️ completed step up ladders never done before
⭐️ worked out in “I flexed and the sleeves fell off” tanks 😂
