This April, Jordan Valley Health is proud to support Go Blue, an effort to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect. 🩵💙

In partnership with our Jordan Valley providers, the Foster Care Program Community Health Workers help children impacted by abuse and neglect.

We provide physical exams for children within 48 hours of entering foster care and help connect foster families to the care and resources they need. In partnership with Home State Health, we also offer free physicals for foster parents. 💚

Thanks to everyone in our communities who protect children and support families every day. Together, we make a difference.

Last year, we matched with the first two residents of our Family Medicine Residency. This year, we matched with three more!

INGREDIENTS

15.5 oz. Black Beans
15.5 oz. Black-Eyed Peas
15 oz. Sweet Corn
1 cup Chopped Cilantro
1/2 cup Chopped Red Bell Pepper
1/2 cup Chopped Orange Bell Pepper
1/2 cup Chopped Red Onion
1 tsp. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt
2 Tbs. Sugar
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/3 cup White Wine Vinegar
1 Tbs. Lime Juice
1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder

RECIPE

1. Drain, rinse, and pat the beans and corn dry. Transfer to the bowl.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

3. Serve as a dip with tortilla chips, as a salad, as a topping in tacos, burritos, or quesadillas, on toast with some avocado.

If you've ever been to the Jordan Valley Health Tampa Vision Clinic, you've probably run into Amy and Bryan. This dynamic duo works together daily to make sure our patients have the care they need. 💚

But...

Amy and Bryan have been a dynamic duo long before they worked at Jordan Valley Health. They first met in high school in 1988 and have been best friends ever since.

From school dances and first jobs to weddings and raising kids, they’ve supported each other through every stage of life. So when the chance came up to work together again at Jordan Valley Health, they were excited to say yes.

When we asked what each of them brings to the team, Bryan shared that Amy works hard to make sure every patient gets the care they need. She makes people feel comfortable, cared for, and truly seen. Amy said Bryan brings flexibility that ensures every patient gets an adaptable and responsive visit.

Together, their friendship makes our team stronger — and helps make Jordan Valley Health a welcoming place for patients every day. 💚

Daylight Saving Time is here! ☀️

More sun, longer evenings with friends and family, and... 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀?🤨

Yep; according to Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Daylight Saving Time is linked to an increase in stress, which can increase your risk of acute health issues like strokes and heart attacks.

Thankfully, subtle daily shifts to your sleep and waking schedule, getting outside for some early morning sunshine, and going to bed early tomorrow can help reduce the effects of this major sleep schedule disruption.
